To Mend Her Broken Heart (Kija x Reader x Jaeha)

Chapter Five

"Where is it...?" You mumble quietly to yourself as you start to search for a book to read before your lectures starts. 

"Oh! Found it!" You exclaim softly as you found the book you wanted to read.

However it was quite high and thus you struggle to get it. You did your best to tip toe and reach for the book.

"A-Almost" 

When you did manage to grab the book, a few others begin to fall and your eyes widen. Then as if slow motion, someone held your back and held the books back in place. 

You turn behind to be met with someone's chest. You slowly look up to see Jaeha holding you with one arm while another was stopping the books from falling down.

"J-Jaeha"

Jaeha looks down at you and that's when a thought hit him. You were really short compared to him which he thought it's cute. I mean, he is 188cm while you're around 159cm.

It was as if time had stopped the moment that slow motion movement had begun. The two of you quietly gaze into each other's eyes for quite a while. 

"Ahem, no flirting please Mister" A voice said and that's when the two of you move away.

You immediately dare not look at Jaeha in the eyes, plus the fact that you were a blushing mess. Jaeha on the other hand, was trying to calm his beating heart.

"S-Sorry" You manage to utter and you quickly walk away with Jaeha following you. 

While heading back to your seat, you felt your face getting hot despite being in an air conditioned environment.

"Y/N-chan, were you getting this?" Jaeha speaks, making you jump a little. 

You then notice him holding out the book that you had been looking for. You then grab on it while mumbling a thanks. 

"S-Sorry about that just now" You said.

"As long as you aren't hurt" says Jaeha.

You glance at the clock and your eyes widen. 

"I'm late for lectures! S-See you around Jaeha!" You exclaim as you quickly pack your things and left the library. 

"Y/N-chan!" Jaeha called but you already left. 

He then turns to where your bag was before you left and notice something on the floor. He picks it up to see that it's a green dragon keychain. 

He inspects it and his eyes widen upon realizing something. Something that has become a distant memory from his childhood...

Later that evening, lectures have finally ended. You were alone since Kija wasn't present today. Speaking of Kija made you think back to yesterday when he placed a kiss on your forehead. 

You didn't know why he did it. You didn't want to anyhow think of his intentions. Even if you did get butterflies in your tummy for Jaeha, you were confuse about the term 'love'.

You shake your head, pushing those thoughts behind your head as you made your way out of the campus. Though unexpectedly you see Jaeha by the entrance, as if he is waiting for someone. 

From afar, you see Jaeha being shined with the evening light which made him shine brighter than usual and it made your heart race.

You touch your chest. Yes, you could feel your heart beating fast and it only happens when you're with Jaeha. As much as you were afraid of this new feeling, you liked it. 

Without thinking, you take out your phone and take a picture of Jaeha's stunning side profile that is bathed in the evening light. You smiled.

"Y/N-chan!" Jaeha called.

You quickly put your phone away so he wouldn't know what you did. You wave to Jaeha as you make your way towards him. 

"You haven't left?" You ask since you were sure Jaeha would have left after the two of you parted from the library. 

"There is something I want to talk about" says Jaeha. 

"Um, okay then" You say.

The two of you then walk together and ended up at the park.

"What is it that you wanna talk about?" You ask.

Jaeha initially remain silent but eventually shows you something. Your eyes widen.

"My dragon! Where did you find it?" You ask.

You were about to take it when Jaeha held it higher, making you confused.

"Jaeha?"

"Where did you get this?" Jaeha ask softly.

"I've had that for a long time now. It's from an important person. So please give it back to me Jaeha" You say.

"This dragon keychain is made with pure acrylic and it's not something found within Japan" says Jaeha as he looks at the keychain.

"I've had it since I was 7" You say.

"I want to know the story..." Jaeha says.

You thought for a moment before nodding.

When you were seven years old, you were a really playful girl. You ignored whatever your parents tell you and did whatever you want.

That changed when you nearly got into an accident. You were with your mother, out to shopping when you had spotted an ice cream parlor.

You left your mother's side and simply ran across the road. The car honked loudly and you froze to the ground when a fast, oncoming car was heading towards you.

"Y/N!!!" Your mother screamed.

You close your eyes and felt yourself being swept away. You opened your eyes to see that you were out of danger.

"Be careful now kid" says a voice and he quickly leaves before you could even take a look at him.

Though you didn't know him at all, he left something behind. And that is a rare dragon keychain made out of pure acrylic which was only available in China at that time.

Jaeha is stunned upon listening to your story. He chuckles to himself. Fate does seem to play with his life.

"You don't even know him and yet this is important?" Jaeha ask.

"He saved me Jaeha" You stated as you reach out your hand, signaling him to return to you the keychain.

"Just so you know, this keychain has the initials 'JH' being carved" says Jaeha and your eyes widen.

"How do you know?" You ask.

Jaeha looks at you with a face you couldn't understand. Until you realized the connection. Your eyes widen.

"It's you..."
