"Birds sing after a storm. Why shouldn't people feel as free to delight in whatever sunlight remains to them?"
Rose Kennedy
*EDITED*

"We're looking for 2 men, probably white, given the neighborhoods that they hit." I watch the team give the profile on the television from my hotel from because I had a cold. Personally I thought I was ok to come to work but Hotch wouldn't allow it.

"Mid to late twenties, intelligent, and organized." Hotch finishes.

"These are career criminals. One or both has done hard time, but neither presents as a convict." JJ says. "They would appear clean-shaven, well dressed,"

"Neighborly." Emily cuts in, "This helps them talk their way into the homes."

"They may also be using a ruse." Morgan says.

"What kind of ruse?" A police officer from the crowd asks, raising his hand.

"Given that the invasions have taken place in the evening, it could be anything." Morgan answers.

"Could be door-to-door sales, person in distress, car trouble." Rossi continues.

"Derrick Todd Lee used a tape of a baby crying to get women to open their doors in Baton Rouge. Never underestimate their creativity." Emily says.

"These men share a very tight bond and a mutual compulsion to kill, but their signatures reveal one brutalizes the parents."

"This is the dominant one, sadistic, remorseless, extremely volatile."

"The other prefers a needle. His injections are consistent with an angel of death." I start to sneeze and turn of the television not really caring to hear the rest, considering I heard it already a couple times.

I grab a couple of tissues and blow my nose. "Gross" I mumble to myself, and force myself off the couch to the trash to throw them away.

I walk into the kitchen and pull out a tea bag from the box of teas Morgan brought me the day I started getting sick.

I put some water in a cup and set it in the microwave to heat up the water. As I wait I take a couple of Advil's to take away my headache.

I start to cough, hurting my throat and chest. "Being sick sucks." I say as the microwave beeps, telling me my water is fully heated.

I put in the teabag and shake it around, turning the water into tea and I take a sip.

There is a knock on my room door. I set down my tea confused and head over to it and open the door.

Spencer is standing there holding his coffee in one hand and a bag from the pharmacy in the other.

"Oh God what do you want?" I ask, not trying to sound to harsh, but I really wasn't feeling well enough to talk to anyone, especially him.

"Ok before you get all angry and kick me out, Hotch sent me to check up on you, so technically this is work related."

I sigh and open the door wider, a sign for him to come inside. "Thank you" Spencer mumbles as he walks passed me setting this bag on the counter in the kitchen area.

"I stopped at the pharmacy on my way here and got you some stuff," Spencer says, pulling things out of the bag, "More tissues, cough drops, in honey and peppermint, supplies for making soup, also some more tea. Yes I know Morgan got you some but I figured it would be nice to have a variety, plus this is my favorite so if you don't want it, I'm keeping it. And I also got stuff to help your boredom, so magazines, movies, a couple of books that were really interesting."

"You read them before?"

"If by before you mean in the store before buying them, yes." He says making me laugh, I had forgotten how fast he can read. "Well thank you, this was nice."

"How bout we turn on one of these on?" Spencer asks holding up the stack of DVDs he had bought.

I shrug and grab my tea and one of the boxes of tissues Spencer bought, because they were better then the crappy ones the hotel had.

"Houston we have a problem." Spencer says standing up from in front of the television. "What?" I ask coming over to him.

"They don't have a system hooked up to play these." He says, "so I guess we can't watch them."

"Oh well, you should take them back, no reason to spend your money on something we can't watch. I'll be fine alone."

"Becca? Are you trying to get rid of me?" He says obviously joking, but truth is, I kinda was.

"What if you keep them, watch them when we get back home." He says and sets them on the counter next to the other stuff.

I sneeze into a tissue, "Bless you." Spencer's says walking over to me. "Thanks" I mumble.

"Here," Spencer says grabbing me and laying me on the couch and covers me with the blanket I was using earlier. "You lay here, read one of these," Spencer says putting the stack of books on the table next to the couch, "or watch some tv and I'll make you some soup then I'll leave ok?"

I take the tv remote from his hands, "Ok." I say with a smile. He quickly returns the smile and goes to the kitchen and starts to cook.

I set the remote down and grab the stack of books and start to look through them, reading the summaries, and they all sounded good.

"Hey you read all these what do you recommend?" I ask. "Well personally I prefer nothing in that stack I just got things I'd figure you would enjoy, but person I enjoy more developed novels like Moby Dick or-"

"Spencer just answer the question." I say letting out a small laugh.

"The one where the girl falls in love with her neighbor, who's also a wizard." He says. I laugh and grab the book, 'Magically in Love' and open it. (A/N: started dying when editing. I'm so cheesy)

"I don't understand why people would want to read that stuff, it's not realistic at all." Spencer says from the kitchen.

"I don't understand it either, but they can be entertaining." I say and start to read.

As I finish the third chapter Spencer walks over to me with a bowl of soup, "Sit up" he says so I sit up and grab the bowl from him.

He sits down next to me, "hope you like it" he says. I grab the spoon and take a bite. "This is amazing." I say taking another bite.

"Thank you." He says. "How did you learn to cook like this?" I ask.

"I took care of my mom a lot growing up." He says kind of mumbling. I give him a confused look, "it's a story for another time." He says. I nod and take another bite.

Spencer stands up, "Well I'm going to leave now I guess." He says. "Do you need anything before I leave?" He asks me.

"Do you have to go back to work?" I ask looking at him. "Well no, I'll probably go to my room, pretend to review the case but won't."

"Well then you could stay here if you want?" I say more like s question then a statement, not really sure why I'm letting him stay.

"You really want me to?" He asks. "What happened to not talking outside work?"

"We aren't talking outside work, Hotch told you to check in on me, and you are." I say and he smiles. "But this doesn't change the fact that what you did-"

"Was terrible I know."

"Then you can stay." I say with a smile.
