"The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you will see." Winston Churchill
*EDITED*

I wake up the next morning to the sound of my alarm clock blasting music throughout the room. I groan as I lean over and switch it off.

I slowly get out of bed and make my way to the kitchen to make some coffee. I put the grounds into the pot and switch it on and wait for the coffee to brew. Once it is done I take my coffee into my room and get ready for work.

~

The elevator doors open and I step out and head over to my desk. I sit down at my desk and lay my head down and shut my eyes.

"Tired?" I hear JJ ask as she sits at her desk. "Mhmm" I groan making her laugh. "Whats wrong with her?" I can hear Morgans from behind me. "Someone didn't get enough sleep last night," JJ says and Morgan starts to laugh. "Shut up," I mumble.

"Oh she speaks!" Morgan says laughing, I hold up my hand and show him the finger. Morgan grabs my hand and twists me out of my chair, "Ow Morgan!" I yell pulling at my arm.

"Kids play nice!" JJ says pulling us apart. "Fine" we both mumble at the same time. I sit back down and Morgan goes over to his desk and sits down and sticks his tongue out at me. I gasp and stick mine out back at him, making us both laugh.

"Come on my lovelies! Good people need our help to get the bad people" Garcia says going into the meeting room carrying tons of papers and her laptop.

We all sigh and follow her into the room. We all sit at the table, me sitting next to JJ and Morgan, who is constantly poking me.

"Could you not!" I say for about the tenth time. "Let me think about that-no!" Morgan says then continues to poke me. "You're so obnoxious!"

"Am not!"

"Are too!"

"Can someone please separate them!" Emily says rolling her eyes, making the whole team laugh.

"Ok let's get started," Garcia says grabbing her remote. "Wait Reid's not here yet," Rossi says, "we should wait." "Dave's right let's wait" Hotch says closing his folder.

We all sit in quiet for a while until Spencer rushes through the door with his hair all messed up, and his shirt on backwards. "Sorry I'm late" he says sitting in the empty seat next to Rossi.

"Whoa pretty boy, what happened to you?" Morgan asks laughing a little. "Nothing just- slept in." Spencer says grabbing a folder. "Well what made the doctor so tired? Did pretty boy finally get-"

"Ok let's stop messing with the genius and start the briefing" Garcia says standing up, clicking her remote making pictures show up on the screen. "This happened two days ago in Beechwood, New Jersey. Mr. Fisher had ingested LSD one afternoon and didn't come down until 18 hours later. The hospital reported 6 other patients who ingested LSD in the last 24 hours. The hospital called the CDC, the CDC called us."

"So, a bunch of people got spiked, what makes it a BAU case?" Morgan asks. "They each received 10 to 20 times the normal dose."

"That's enough to kill a small child." Spencer says. "Of the seven victims, there was one death and one coma." Garcia says clicking the remote again, making a video play on the screen, "This is from the hospital's security footage the same night Fisher lost it."

"Those people didn't get spiked. Those people were poisoned." Hotch says after the video was over, "Wheels up in 30"

~

We are all sitting in the jet flipping through the folders while on video call with Gracia. "Of the 7 victims, Lucy Norman was the only death. She was 68, ran out into the middle of the road, and she was hit by a car. She was DOA." Garcia says, quickly typing on her computer.

"The other potentially fatal case is 11 year old Abigail Canon. She fell out of a tree house and fractured her skull, she's in a coma and the doctors don't know if she's going to come out of it."

"How do you wanna handle the press? We still don't even know how these people got dosed." JJ asks.

"I think it would be irresponsible to issue a warning without specifics. It'll just cause panic. I did notify the local PD, though, to be discreet." Hotch answers.

"How is it possible that none of these people knew how they got poisoned?" I ask, "How do none of them remember anything about the day it happened?"

"These people were so messed up, it's made it difficult for local PD to retrace the victim's steps." Rossi answers. "We know there are four types of poisoners who target multiple victims-"

"There's the true believer, the political terrorist, religious cult-" Emily starts, "And there's the avenger, someone with a personal vendetta who chooses poison as their weapon."

"Or its a prankster?" I suggest. "Usually a younger offender who doesn't mean any harm and it's basically just a big practical joke."

"We need to find out as quickly as possible which type he is, all these types commonly test their poison on a small scale before appearing at a larger attack, so its likely there will be a lot more victims soon." Hotch says.

"Then, let's hope this one was just a prank."

"I would suggest we split up the victims, see if there's a pattern to the victimology." Hotch says. "Most of them are still in the hospital." Garcia informs us, "Then I'll call local PD to meet us there." Hotch says pulling out his phone. "I'll check the lab reports." JJ says pulling out hers as well and heading towards the back of the jet.

~

"Detective Hanover, Beechwood PD." Says the detective as the team walks into the hospital. "Agent Hotchner, these are agents Rossi, Morgan, Singfield, Prentis and Jareau, and that's Dr. Reid" Hotch says introducing us the the detective. "Thanks for coming down on such short notice. Have you had a chance to review the victim's files?"

"Yes and we're especially interested in talking to the girls parents. While the lab analyzes the specific nature of the LSD she was dosed with, we'd like to get our own sense: was it the drug itself or was there something else going on that caused her to fall out of that tree house, and hopefully, that can give us a little bit of a window into the motive of the offender."

"Yeah, that sounds great, I could give someone from your team a ride down there is you like?" The detective says. "Alright JJ, you go down to Abigails house with Detective Hanover" Hotch says. "Alright" JJ says, following the detective out of the building.

~

"They didn't confessed in hurting the kid." JJ says walking into the police station with the rest of the team.

"That's consistent with the information we just received from the lab tox screens. They didn't find any trace of PCP or any other drug indicating the unsub was intentionally trying to make people violent, but they did find traces of rohypnol in all the victims." Hotch says.

"For those who don't know that's-" " A central nervous system depressant, similar to valium, only ten times more potent, It's commonly known as a "roofie" or a date-rape drug." I say, cutting Spencer off. "Right, and one of its side effects is amnesia, which explains why none of the victims remember how they were poisoned."

We compared notes on the victims we talked to while you were interviewing the parents" Rossi says filling JJ in, "And so far there doesn't seem to be any pattern as to who got hit."

"Maybe the drugs themselves could explain what type of offender we're dealing with. A lot of kids are using LSD and rohypnol these days, and Fisher is a high school teacher." Morgan says, "So it might be a prank after all."

"Yeah, one that went horribly wrong."
