Busted
As I was looking at the path before me, I got shivers. I thought I never had to visit a place like this to get some answers, especially when I'm not a doctor or an investigator. Just a simple wife and a mother of two who needs to help their husband in need.
Jungkook wouldn't like what I was about to do. Therefore, I never told him. My kids' and parents' safety means the world, but I want to help Jungkook find this betrayer.
I also thought the whole betrayer thing could be a distraction and not real. It is easy to send something like that from an unknown number and pretend to be someone who could help. We couldn't think of any who could it be.
I had to hurry because my parents thought I had gone to grab something from the store. My absence could cause worry, and they could come after me.
I took a deep breath before taking my steps toward the entrance. I had already booked a visiting time beforehand as this place required it. They had to accept it and the person you want to visit. Luckily, I got approval from both.
I stepped in through the glassed doors. I looked around me a bit while walking towards the info counter. The place seemed quite cozy and modern. There were many places to sit in the lobby. Couches, chairs, beanbags, etc., filled the whole room. The glassed windows brought the sunlight in, and the place was decorated with different plants and flowers. You'd almost think this is a hotel.
I could see a few people talking to each other on the couches. Some of them were having drinks or snacks, and they seemed to be smiling and laughing. It completely shattered any expectations I had about mental hospitals.
I arrived at the counter, and a sweet-looking woman smiled. ''Good morning, darling. How may I help you?''
''I have a visiting time booked. My name is Jeon Y/n,'' I smiled back at her. She typed my name on the computer and looked at the screen for a second.
''Ah yeah, there is your name,'' she took something out of the drawers. Soon, she pulled out a little name tag that you attach to your shirt. ''You can sit anywhere you like. She'll be out soon,'' she smiled, and I bowed at her.
I looked for the right spot to sit down and found a group of little chairs by the window, almost at the corner of the lobby. I wanted some distance from the other patients as my topic wasn't for everyone's ears, and you never know who could be listening to your conversation.
I was a bit nervous, but I was also ready to face this, put an end to my thoughts, and forgive.
I didn't have to sit alone for long before I saw the person I had come to see walking toward me. When I looked at her face, all the memories came rushing back. I had never associated it with good memories, which felt especially sad in this situation.
The person smiled a little before sitting down in front of me. They brushed a little strand of hair behind their ear before taking the courage to look at me in my eyes.
''Hi Yeri, it is good to see you,'' I said as I smiled and tried to ease her. She was also very nervous. I could see it on her face.
''H-hi,'' she replied with a small voice.
There was a long silence after our parts. I was going to say something, but she beat me to it.
''I, um... I was surprised when you called and said you wanted to meet me. I thought you would never want to see me again,'' she started, and it seemed hard for her.
''Look,'' she sniffed a bit, and I could see little tears in her eyes. ''I'm not trying to beg pity with my actions right now. I deserve everything you want to say to me now. But let me say this first. I'm so sorry, Y/n, for everything I did.''
