Chapter 4

"Tell me everything you know about martial arts and tell me everything", Yu Zi said seriously, her expression on her face not matching her age at all.

"Well, let's start with the basics. Everyone has a power called chi and it is a spiritual power that binds our soul,heart and mind.",Fu Mei explained.

"Now some people are able to harness their chi,some better than other and some none at".

"So you could fly when you harness you chi?", Yu Zi asked excitedly.

Fu Mei chuckled. "They are not exactly flying but chi can make you light as a feather, it's called The Lightness technique. You'll learn it sooner."

Yu Zi rubbed her hands in anticipation.

"So, chi can also enhance physical abilities, and you can create the several elements with it. They are limitless. Some are wind, ice ,water ,just to name a few"

Yu Zi nodded.

"I'll continue later" Fu Mei smirked.

"What! Tell me now, because I'm your master". Yu Zi times. It was just getting interesting.

"You see kid, though I'm I want to tell you,you should figure things out for yourself".

Yu Zi sighed. Well at least he said would tell me the rest later.

"Ok"

Fu Mei nodded his head.
"I have to go"

"Where?"

"I going to eat,if you need me I would sense it and come" the hamster said and climbed bout the window leaving Yu Zi bro her thoughts.

I should have asked him how I could train. Yu Zi thought.

Weeks passed and Yu Zi with the help of Fu Mei started harnessing her chi. It was slow but she still practiced in a lotus position and she kept it a secret from her family.

A festival for celebrating the birth of the emperor's son from his favoured consort came. The celebration was a one week event so some people moved to the capital to hang paper lantern and make merry.

Yu Zi's family decided to go on the second day but Yu Zi's mom decided she would stay home so she went with her father and little brother.

When the reached the capital, they saw the bustling streets, beast were more here and people were hanging colourful things and lanterns that would be lit I'm the evening.

The whole place was noisy and Yu Zi couldn't even here herself speak. So in order not to get lost , she grasped her father's hand tightly.

They were walking till they reached a house. They knocked and a young girl, about the age of sixteen wearing a light blue dress opened.

"Can I help you?"

"We are here to see Nuo Shi".

"Um,who are you to him sir?",the girl blushed shyly.

Did I ever tell you that my dad was a looker.

"I'm his brother we were supposed to meet him here today"

"Oh, I'm sorry. Come in". She made way for us and led us to this uncle of ours.

"Brother, I was expecting your visit", a man who seemed to be in his early thirties greeted us.

Yu Zi's father hugged him and they clapped each other's back.

"It's been awhile Nuo Shi, what are doing here", Yu Zi's father asked.

"Oh you know, travelling, and those stuffs", the man who was wearing a blue robe and his hair tied neatly into a bun. He had a tired appearance like he's worked or something.

"Mother always wanted you to settle down but we'll you...", Yu Zi's father sighed

"Martial artists", Yu Zi's father said under his breath.

It turns out that Yu Zi's father lost his father when they were young due to the war that happened years ago.

Due to this, he decided not to practice martial arts. But his brother Nuo Shi practiced martial arts and learnt medical arts as well.

"Well have a seat."
"Who are these two, my nephew and niece. Why cuties they are", the man gushed.

"You weren't even there when they were born", Yu Zi's father grumbled.

Nuo Shi laughed.

"Well it's a shame".

"Nuo Shi crouched down and placed his hands on our heads and rubbed it before getting up.

"You are here for the celebration. I'm staying in the capital for a while so feel free to stay around".

Nuo Shi had a graceful air to him and he was medical practitioner. Yu Zi wanted to go close to him. Also it seemed that Yu Zi's father hated martial arts.

What a shame.

The girl who we met at the gate led us to a room where we would stay. He gave Yu Zi's father a separate room and gave Yu Zi and her brother one room to share.

A while after settling down, Yu Zi went up to her uncle.

"Hey Uncle."

"Hello dear, what is it", he said with a patient smile.

"What do you do Uncle", she asked with the most ignorant face she could muster.

He chuckled and lifted her and placed her on his lap.

"Why, do you want to be a doctor".

Well I was one in my previous life. At least about to start my job. Stupid accident!

Yu Zi nodded.

"Well that means you have to study hard", he spoke as if talking to a kid.
Well I was but not really. It annoyed me to no end.

"Bye uncle"

He waved and I left his room.

When it was in the afternoon, Yu Zi's father told his children he would take them to the capital to buy gifts and cake.

"Yeah!",the two children cried happily.

Capital city here we come!
