Chapter 19

Yu Zi sat outside while her uncle and Jiang Po talked with the town magistrate Song . After a few days of taking care of Song Minfu until he was a little better, he albeit reluctantly followed Yu Zi and her group to meet his father .

Found out he ran away after contracting the Gao flu for sometime and that  to find his sister who had been kidnapped a day prior .

The flu was still going on in the town and Yu Zi and Nuo Shi had written prescriptions for doctors in the town to use. Yu Zi  gave the doctors her special pink tipped lotus elixir as the pink tipped lotus was grown only by her in the whole world as a relic Fu Mei was asked to give her by Fu Laohe.

It was grown in a small round pot with a lid which was easily portable . The pot was very strong so it didn't break since it was made with a special kind of extinct material.
The pot bore six petals every year so it was a very valuable resource to use and to be used efficiently.

Yu Zi stared at the courtyard before she took out a pouch to take out the soul rock which barely  glowed anymore before staring at it a bit emotionally. Today would be the last time she would have access to it.

Focusing closely while inserting her chi in the rock it glowed faintly she was sucked into the rock. She looked around at the Buddhist temple in front of her before walking to it her light grey robes and hair fluttering with the light wind that picked up in her boyish attire.

Standing in front of the temple's gate was Yangti who opened the door but didn't comment on her clothes like he always did when he saw her dressed like a male.

' That's a first', she thought before walking in. Her steps rang out in the quiet hall as the diviner in front of her was having a prayer . She went forward to sit beside him and closed her eyes like him.
He recited some prayers and waited for him to finish before they opened their eyes to stare at each other.

"Master...",she began but he cut her off.

" I know what you are going to say. Something along the lines of 'Thank you so much for all you have done', I'm going to miss you so on and so forth.",he paused to look at the girl

"Well let me say it anyway"

Yu Zi cleared her throat for her throat was clogging up with emotions and her eyes pricked
"Master, you don't need to worry about me. Because after you're gone I will be alright . I'll fulfill your mission, take care of Fu Mei and use the things you have taught me to help people.

I also want to thank you for all the things you have done for me and all the things you have already done for Fu Mei as well.

Your sacrifice of sealing your soul in a rock instead of reincarnation will always be appreciated."

Yu Zi went forward and raised her hand for a handshake. Fu Laohe stared at the girl before calling Yangti in.

The sickly looking boy cane in and stared at the diviner before looking at Yu Zi in discomfort his cheek twitching .

"I-I will also reincarnate after this . I will miss you ,you stinky girl!"

Yu Zi smiled at the boy having no retorts. She went forward to hug him tightly to which he grumbled but hugged her back reluctantly. She pulled his hair down to which he yelped then immediately released him .

Just after she released him, his body started to fade like a ghost.

"Don't die soon or else I will laugh at you!"

After a few seconds his soul faded away . Yu Zi turned back to Fu Laohe who was also fading .

"There's one last thing I have to tell you Yu Zi."

Yu Zi went forward to him to listen.

" You are not the only one who has knowledge of the Shun Lai valley and people will also want to go there for the treasure  in four years from now and you should find all the map pieces by then.

I'm not actually supposed to tell you any specific events of the future as a diviner, but let's just say this is your parting gift."

"Thank you Master!",tears sprung up in Yu Zi's eyes waiting to spill.

Fu Laohe raised his hand for a handshake as he was quickly fading as well. Yu Zi placed her hand in his and shook his surprisingly light hands. He tightened his hands but it still felt like a caress as he smiled till he faded leaving two words.

"Don't cry".

The temple started to fade and the whole place faded but she was suddenly brought back into her body as her body was been shook .

Song Minfu face magnified in front of her as he frowned.
"Why are you crying in your sleep?"

Yu Zi removed his hands from her shoulders before getting up and cleaning her tears.

She was about to speak when a spinning black cloud suddenly appeared in the courtyard accompanied with strong winds. It blew hard on the courtyard carrying dust and flower petals.

The whirling wind approached Yu Zi till a dark figure came out of the wind still attached to the dark mass.

When the black cloud disappeared a finally visible black figure with dark chi and auta emitted from it. It wailed piercingly.

It stretched it hand and the the wind accompanied it. The wind formed sharp edges and Yu Zi blocked it with some ice breaking off.

Not waiting for it to attack again,
"Get behind me", she shouted at Song Minfu.

"Ice fog!", she blew ice from her lips creating fog and quickly hardened it into ice spikes in the air and threw it at the figure bit it disappeared.

Searching, she finally sensed the air bit it was too late. The figure stretched it's veiny hand at Song Minfu behind her who was frozen in shock and fear.

She gathered up her chi in her palm.
"Let him go!"

She threw multiple barrages of air palms till it hit the figure bit figure didn't stop moving or let go of Song Minfu who was screaming.

" It's a demon Nuo Hua get out of there!", Jiang Po shouted and summoned a large red glowing sickle with chains at the bottom.

He swung it at the figure , who threw Song Minfu at the weapon. Jiang Po tried to lessen the impact but it sliced the boy's chest blood spurting out the next moment.

Yu Zi created wind blades in her hands and started a close range combat with the figure.
She slashed left and the figure blocked with some wind throwing her off. Jiang Po counter attacked  with his sickle skillfully which left fire at it's wake  like it was part of his arm.

Nuo Shi who appeared on the scene stared with the town magistrate and guards.
The guards tried to go forward to help they were all suddenly blown away.

Useless.

Nuo Shi made some hand symbols and swung an air ball at the creature.
The figure who was distracted was hit and thrown off balance hitting a pillar in the house.

Yu Zi and Jiang Po stared at the source of the attack.

" Uncle , take care of Song Minfu".

He quickly carried the bleeding boy to his side and came to help the two.

But the figure being fed up wailed loudly and created a black mass which quickly engulfed the two.

Nuo Shi ran towards then at high speed but they were gone in a flash.
Leaving like nothing happened.
