"Hey" I say to Alex over the phone as i walk towards the firehouse. 

"What are you doing?" He says

"We both know you don't care what i'm doing. What's up Karev?" 

"I hate that you moved. I have no one to yell at. Or to go get food with. Or to hit me when i'm being stupid."

"That's not true. Yang would do it" I'm close to the firehouse. 

"Hey" I look over to see Kelly locking his car.

"Hey" I respond as i smile

"Yeah well, Yang hits hard" 

"Cry about it. Now why did you actually call?" Kelly is walking beside me as we walk up

"How are you?" Alex asks

"I'm good?" I question confused on why he's asking. 

"I punched Jackson" I stop. 

"You what?" I ask making sure i heard it again. Kelly stops and looks over at me to make sure i'm okay.

"He deserved it" Alex says. I laugh. I watch as Kelly's body relaxes

"Yeah he did. At least tell me you didn't do it at work"

"I'm not stupid. Anyways, i'm being paged. Call me when your shift ends"

"Yeah i will you clingy bitch."

"Shut up" he says before he hangs up. 

"Everything good?" Kelly asks

"Yeah, every things great" I smile at him.

We walk into the locker room and get ready for work.

"Hey" Leslie says as she runs up to me.

"Hey" 

"Peter knows"

"What" 

"He knows, we know" I stop and look at her. I nod. She nods. And then she walks away. Okay.

"What does he know?" Kelly swings his head around the lockers to look at me.

"None of your business" i say jokingly. "Just some girl stuff"

"Well if it's girl stuff, why does he get to know?" 

"Shut up Kelly. Too many questions before i've even had my coffee." He laughs. 

After Kelly and i went to eat the other day we've become pretty good friends. Which is great cause now i'm friends with everyone here. it feels like my family. Although no one could replace Mark. Or Lexie.

We got a call about a kid who fell into the water. Severide went down there and saved him. 

We went to the hospital afterwards. I walked up to Shay as she was doing paperwork

"You really have to fill this out every time you bring someone in?" I ask

"Yep, perks of the job" I laugh

Severide walks up to us and stands beside me "Hey. How's the kid?" he asks Shay

"Good. Got him warmed up. BP is stabilised"

"Thats good" I say looking ay Kelly. He smiles at me while i smile back. 

"Lieutenant" The kids father walks up to Kelly causing Kelly and I to stop staring at each other. I look towards Shay to see her giving me a look. I look away.

"Hey. I just heard the news. That's great" 

"Yeah. Thanks to you guys." We smile at him "I just want you to know, uh, i didn't" he paused and took a breath "My son was in that water, and i froze, i did nothing"
