Things we said today

"You got surgery done" I say as i enter Derek's hospital room 

"Hey, you're here" He says as he sits himself more up smiling

"I said i would be. I've missed you" i reply

"I bet everyones been excited to see you"

"Actually, i haven't seen anyone just yet, came straight to you" 

I sit and speak to Derek for a little while longer before i get up and go looking for everyone else. Especially Alex. I see Mer, Yang and a couple other people before i leave to continue looking for Alex.

"Aves" I hear as i turn around. I run up and jump on Alex when i realise its him. He laughs as he catches me. 

"I've missed you so much" I whisper to him

"I've missed you too" 

"You look nice. Since when did you own a suit?" i joking say after he puts me down

"Shut up. You're ready?" 

"Yeah, i came prepared. Something always happens around here."

"No it doesn't"

"Yes it does. And now cause you said that this whole place is gonna light on fire or something"

"Karev ready to g-" Jackson walks up and stops when he sees me "Avery, you're back"

"Just for the wedding" 

"Oh, you look-" He gets cut off from my phone ringing

"We have to go get our dates anyways" Alex says. 

"Someone wanted to go as your date?" I question jokingly letting my phone ring 

"Shut up. I'll see you there" I nod in response and watch him walk by Jackson. Jackson hasn't moved since he noticed me so Alex grabs him and drags him away. I look down at my phone and see Kelly called me.

"Hey sorry" i say after i call him back

"I didn't know if the wedding started" 

"It hasn't, i'm on my way there now"

"How are you there?" 

"I'm alright. I don't know. I'm staying at a hotel for now. How's everything there? 

"Casey is sleeping with Heather" 

"What? Are you sure?" 

"Yeah, but he's denying it." 

"Kelly, i don't want to disagree with you but maybe be careful. It doesn't seem like something he would do." I say gently 

"I don't know. You didn't see what i saw"

I sigh "Look, you know Matt. Would he do something like that?" I ask, knowing he probably won't respond

"I agreed. To have the baby with Shay" Kelly says ignoring my previous question. I feel my heart drop a little. I'm happy for Shay but a part of me doesn't want it to be Kelly's.

"That's great. The both of you are gonna be amazing parents" I look up as the car stops to see that i'm here. "Hey, i have to go, i'm here. I'll call you after?" I say even though i don't want to hang up. I miss him.

"Yeah, i'll be waiting. Bye Lucky" he says causing me to smile

"Bye Kelly."

I enter the venue and sit next to Alex. And spend my time trying to ignore the looks April and Jackson are giving each other.

"Isn't this stupid thing supposed to start already?" Alex says

"I told you something would happen" i say.
