A nuisance call

"What's up?" I say as i answer the phone to Alex placing him on speaker as i go to pour my coffee. 

"So, and this might surprise you" Alex trails off

"Oh my gosh Alex, just speak" I say since he is taking so long to finish

"April is engaged" I put my coffee down as i reach for mt phone so quickly holding onto it while it's still on speaker.

"To Jackson?" I ask realising the thought of them marrying each other doesn't hurt as much as i thought

"No, to Matthew" He replied

"Who?" I say with an annoyed tone

"Hey boyfriend. He is a paramedic" 

"You are kidding right?" Alex stays silent

"She slept with my fiance, taking part in ruining that relationship to not even end up with him, Are you fucking joking?"

"So you're upset she's not engaged to Jackson?" Alex asks confused

"YES" I shout "Of course i am. At least it would ahve meant something in the long run. All that pain they caused me was very literally for nothing" I look up at the clock and realise i need to leave for work soon.

"Okay, well what about this guy who calls you his lucky charm. Is that why you aren't happy about this?" Alex asks

"Kelly, his name is Kelly and i'm happy now, i guess they deserve to be as well. Anyways, i've got to go to work. I'll call you later"

"Hey" Kelly says as i walk into the firehouse.

"Hi" I reply smiling at him as i try and go to morning briefing. Kelly grabs my arm making me stop and leans down to kiss me. He pulls away first and smiles at me. I smile back. 

"Hi" He says before he turns and walks to the briefing. I stand there for a moment before i turn and see Gabby and Shay staring at me shocked. 

"When the hell did this happen?" Gabby says

"A couple of days ago." i say not giving them much.

"And you didn't tell us?!" Shay exclaims

"Hey don't yell at me you live with the guy" I say causing her to make a 'your right' face. "And also there isn't much to tell, we've just kissed a couple of times and that's all. Plus we all know Kelly is not a relationship guy. And i am. I don't know it's all complicated" 

Gabby and Shay give me an understanding look. Gabby's phone then rings and i see 'Jay' come up and Gabby decline it.

"He still bothering you?" Shay asks her as we all start walking to the briefing 

"We have your back. Tell him to show his face here or Molly's and see what happen's" 

"I appreciate that but i've got it sorted" Both Shay and i place a hand on her arm as comfort before we walk in for the briefing. I take a seat next to Peter and in front of Kelly.

"i'm gonna need a couple of new volunteers, to help me with the new wellness program for this house." Boden states causing some of the firefighters around groan. "It involves workshops, physical exams. I believe we all have to have some new kind of fitness diary" He says causing more of us to groan. "So volunteers?" Boden asks and everyone stays silent. "I don't have all day. Good. Mills, Shay you are now the new wellness reps"

"Hey, you alright?" Matt asks the girls as they come back from a bad call.

"No, not even a little bit" They both walk away, as mouch walks towards us
