THE COTTAGE.

The light of sun rays peaked through your bedside window, the translucent-opaque curtains faintly blocking it as it hit the golden shimmer of your skin.

Your eyes slowly peeled open as you adjusted your arms that were laying on the side of your pillow to rub them. The bed felt heavy, heavier than usual, you attempted to move your body but something stopped it.

You looked out your bedside window, "ah the flowers have bloomed" You thought. Wait a second, wasn't Zhongli here yesterday?

You attempted to get up but something was holding you back. "What the.." you opened the covers to find an arm wrapped around your waist around you.

Oh my god, your stomach twisted but not in a bad way, your eyes widened as your face heated up,

"Good morning." A deep voice came from behind you.

"Zhongli.. Goodmorning." you uttered,

"I'm sorry dear, I didn't hurt you did I?" He questioned freeing you from his arms.

"Oh no, you didn't don't worry." You smiled,

Your legs did feel quite stiff but overall still pretty tolerable.

You sat up from your position covering yourself still with the blanket.

Zhongli got up as well, his long hair drizzled across his scratched back up to the front of his chest, his Amber eyes still glowing faintly as you noticed how his arms also glowed a faint golden tint.

"Oh dear quite a mess, are you sure you aren't hurt? I could get you some water if you'd like?" He offered.

"I'm okay.." you smiled at him.

He smiled at you back and nodded,

"Alright dear if that's what you want, I'll go run you a bath to clean up." Zhongli stated before walking close to you.

"I love you." He stated kissing your forehead.

"I love you too." You smiled as you returned his kiss.

He soon prepared you a bath and assisted you to the bathroom carefully setting you on the water, despite what happened last night he still did his best to be as respectful as possible to assure you'd feel safe around him.

"I'll clean up, okay? Just call me if you need anything." He stated before locking the door behind him.

"Thank you." You smiled at him before he left.

The water felt relaxing and warm around you, you could tell Zhongli used one of your favourite candles that was lit up on the corner of the room.

"Oh how lucky am I?" You thought, after thousands of years he never really stopped to look for you?
