Favors don't mean too much
Karas POV
Noonan's has to be my favorite place but it always takes ages for your food to get done. I suppose you could say quality over quantity. I have about 40 minutes left on my lunch break. It takes 15 to get back to CatCo. It should be enough time. Once I read the menu over for the millionth time and turn to look at the people around me. Alex calls it creepy, but I call it people watching. I just so happen to spot a raven haired woman with unique eyes.
"Lena?" I ask slowly walking towards her, a smile playing on my lips.
"Kara. It's good to see you." Lena says quickly snapping her head up from her laptop.
"Are you waiting for someone?" I really hope that doesn't sound too jealous.
Lena smirks slightly as she answers, "Not today. I've got a hot date for work. And you?"
"Oh well, I'm just here for my lunch break."
"Not the most convenient place for a lunch break."
"But the foods good. I have a preference for their sticky buns."
"The food suits you." Lena smiles easily.
"Kara Danvers!" One of the workers call out.
"Oh! I gotta go. It was nice seeing you today. The top you're wearing really brings out your blue eye." And with that I was off.
I think I have about 18 minutes to get back to the building.

Lenas POV
She didn't say blue eye did she? She certainly must've said blue eyes. There's no way Karas soulmate has different color eyes like I do. I mean, that's just wishful thinking. I shake the thought as I look back at my screen. What was I even working on?
Your blue eye. I hear it over and over. It's like it's taunting me. She must've misspoken. Surly. I suppose any hope I had of focusing here is long gone. I suppose I could look up the chance of someone having heterochromia. I'm sure the chance isn't high. It must be low right? With a quick google search I'm now positive she misspoke. A while 1%. She must've meant blue eyes... I sigh as I pack up my laptop. Just my luck. Perhaps I could get the latest issue of CatCo. I'm sure Karas article has been published by now.

I've scammed through most of the article at this point. As Kara had said, she write the truth. I should expect nothing less really. She seems like she means ever word she says. You're blue eye. I sigh for what seems the millionth time today. She just misspoke. She was in a rush.
"Ms Luthor, Kara Danvers is wondering if you're open." I hear Jess over my intercom, "Should I send her away?"
"No... you can send her in." I call back placing the magazine on my coffee table.
After five minutes Kara timidly peeks her head into my office, "Hi. Sorry to drop in without calling ahead..."
"Don't be ridiculous. I'm sure you have a good reason." I smile gesturing for her to enter, "So what brings you all the way to L-Corp?"
"Well, there have been rumors about an alien fight club. I've been thinking about pitching an article about it. Do you happen to know anything?"
"Are you asking me because I'm a Luthor?"
"Honestly?" She pauses as I nod. Timidly she walks over and joins me on my couch, "Yes. I am asking because you're a Luthor." She says it bluntly. I honestly didn't think she had it in her, "You may not be like the rest of your family, but you have the name. I'm sure it's not your scene but you still might know something and if I have even just one source I'd have access to CatCos resources as well."
"It's run by Veronica Sinclair right?"
"I believe so."
"I went to boarding school with her. I don't know much now but I'm sure I could try and contact her if you'd like."
"Really?" Kara had a look of awe almost.
"I mean, you've given two articles where you've written honestly about me. No other opinion coming into play, just facts. It's the least I could do."
"You don't owe me anything for the articles. It's what you deserve really. You're good until proven not I suppose." Kara said staring out to my balcony, "Like the image inducers and such. Human until proven alien. Hell even immortal until proven mortal. They would never really know, would they..."
"You seem to have a lot going on in your head Ms Danvers."
"Who doesn't?" She throws back playfully, "But seriously, thank you again."
"Of course." I smile, "You're just trying to help what I'm sure to be innocent aliens. I guess people could call you somewhat of a superhero. Perhaps you're Superman's cousin."
I had thought it was a clever joke but Karas face seems to pale slightly, "What?" She drags out the word with a nervous chuckle, "That's ridiculous everyone knows Superman is the last kryptonian."
"Well yes... I mean it was just a fun joke." I tilt my head to the side slightly. How peculiar.
"Oh." She blushes slightly, "Right yes, obviously. I uh, I should get going."
"Of course." I smile as she turns, "Kara." I say it suddenly it surprises us both, "I'm sure I had misheard you earlier but, did you say blue eyes or eye?"
Kara practically scoffs at the question, "Why on earth would I say eyes? You clearly have one green and one blue."
"Right, right, of course. Sorry. Have a nice evening."
"You too Lena, see you later."
Okay so they're just on the 1%. That's fine. It doesn't mean anything. It'd be stupid to read more into it. It's supposed to be essentially impossible for me to find my soulmate. So it most certainly can't be the cute blonde reporter with blue eyes. Like what would the chances be? It has to be oh so very low. Unless...
