Prequel; A Xodiacian in Remnant (RWBY Qrow Branwen x OC Bellae Evergreen)

Chapter 3- Evergreen's Forest is Open!

Today was the day of Bellae Evergreen's grand opening of her floral shop called 'Evergreen's Forest'. She woke up extra early to use her magic, making her flowers, herbs, shrubs, trees, you name it, grow to their near full or full length. Lights were turned on, curtains were pushed away from the two main windows, Bellae even made signs to point to where her new work was at, hoping to attract more attention with that. She was hopeful, she prayed that her first day would be a good day.

Or that's what Bellae hoped, there were no customers yet, people were weary to head inside her shop due to the history of her home. With her heightened sense of hearing, she could hear hushed whispers from adults as they passed by slowly to take a peek. Bellae wasn't wearing her cloak anymore from inside her shop, wanting to be comfortable in her own skin. Although for walking outside to get groceries and such, she will wear her cloak for a little longer. "Come on..." She mumbled, feeling weary that her first day wouldn't be a big hit like she thought of.

Bellae continued to watch through her two large windows, seeing adults and children walk past her, a couple stopped to take a peek like usual, but didn't dare enter. This dragged on for a whole day. Eventually she had to close up, sweeping the floor, locking the door, closing the curtains to her windows and making it back upstairs to her house. A sigh of defeat came out of her. "Well that was anticlimactic..." Bellae sighed sadly, not liking the first day's outcome.

Laying down on her couch to soak on her sadness and worries, she began to think of ideas in her head of how to overcome this obstacle. "Would handing out free flowers to children work? Would giving out seeds in samples for free attract attention?... Maybe I should've traveled to a more wooded area than a bustling city. Do these people not get flowers for their loved ones on this planet? Urgh..." Bellae growled, putting her hands on her face and rubbing herself.

A month has passed, it took that long for Bellae to gain customers, it wasn't much. But slowly and surely she would become popular amongst everyone. Children and teens were the main buyers, liking the free flower they would get when coming inside, and a trial of her seeds from different species of flowers or bushes. Bellae packaged those seeds carefully with instructions on how to grow them, adding a special fertilizer that helps her kind of flora survive on this new planet.

Bellae had theorized over these past months that her first day wasn't that great not because of the history of where her shop was held, but because of the season she came into this new world. She came at the end of August, a time where families were preparing for school in the new year, and not a lot of people were preparing or wanting to grow flowers when they were paying more attention to books, binders, and clothes. Things were way different on Remnant than on her old homeworld. Back then, school didn't start for fellow Xodiacians in the middle of September.

However, now that it was in the past, two months have gone by so things should be different now. October has arrived, fall is here, nature all around, or...somewhat. What leftover trees that lived in the city, its leaves have fallen. A few people have been celebrating, although it's mainly kids coming from their schools, immediately leaving the campus and already running around the city hanging out with friends and browsing in shops. Bellae sat down in the back end where the cash register is held, looking down while reading a magazine but using her skilled ears to listen out for the door to open for more potential customers. The time was ten twenty-five, her shop opens at ten o'clock sharp.

A bell chimed as the door opened and closed, a trio of teenagers came in and looked around the place. Awes and oos came out from their mouths. The trio of girls looked to be about fourteen or sixteen year olds, they wore a uniform Bellae didn't recognize. One had brunette hair and two low big twists with pink dyes on the tips, orange eyes and auburn skin. The second one was olive toned with a mint green pixie cut and ocean blue eyes. And the third had magenta colored hair in tight curls with indigo eyes and vitiligo. They were a lively bunch, that's for sure.
