"Critical systems compromised," echoed through the cabin. Holly's voice came calm despite the destruction; AI always stays calm. The damage to the once-bustling ship robbed her hologram but wouldn't mute her voice.
"Captain, no other life is detected onboard. Shall I divert all oxygen to your quarters, ma'am?"
"No, Holly," I sighed as I gazed out the window at the cold space that was now seeping into my ship.
"What are your orders, Captain?"
"Just give me peace, Holly," I mustered.
"Venting oxygen."
As the warmth of death surrounded me, Holly's voice came one last time. "Captain, I wish you peace."
