The next afternoon I was stood with my court and the other High Lords, the illusion of an army behind us.
Tamlin was leading his own army, no Autumn Court soldiers thankfully.
I stepped forwards.
"End this Tamlin," I called.
"Willing to come and meet your fate?" He yelled back.
"Your army only stands behind you because of the threat you hold over their families, but what if I told you all that your families are safe, that we all got them out. Your families are in our courts, waiting for you to come home to them." I said to the army, Rhys helping my voice carry.
The army began to mutter.
"Impossible!" Tamlin yelled.
"No Tamlin, it isn't, because we did it," I told him.
"If you no longer want to fight this pointless battle them, come and join us, we will take you to your families and you will be safe in our courts." I called after no one made to move.
One by one the soldiers dropped their swords and shields to walk over to us, coming to stand in a group behind where we stood.
Soon there were only five or six people left, his most loyal soldiers.
"Go home Tamlin," I told him.
"You will pay for this," he snarled at me before leaving.
The men behind us cheered and celebrated and while the High Lords were telling the men where each of their families were I walked away.
When I thought no one could see me I shifted into a small bird and flew away. Once I had flown around for a while I went to my mate, landing on her shoulder.
"Hey, you doing, ok?" She asked me gently, stroking the feathers on the top of my head.
I tucked myself closer to her and she carefully picked me up and set me on her hand, so we were eye to eye.
"You're allowed to not be ok Odette, but remember that we won today," she told me.
I nodded then went back to her shoulder.
"Mor, have you seen Odette?" Rhys called.
"She's on my shoulder!" Mor called back.
I jumped off and shifted back into myself.
"Come on Odette, let's go back home," she told me with a soft smile.
I nodded and she held me close as she winnowed us back to the Night Court. We collapsed on a sofa together and she let me sob into her chest. My father was such a horrible person.
I eventually slipped off to sleep.
-Mor's POV-
Once Odette had fallen asleep, I tucked her into bed then went to see the others.
"Is she ok?" Feyre asked.
"I think she wishes Tamlin wasn't her father, other than that I think she is ok, I just don't know." I replied.
"Keep an eye on her, if she wants to talk about Tamlin then send her to me, I know how she feels," Feyre told me and I nodded, going back up to our room and settling onto the bed next to her.
I felt when she woke, and I opened my eyes to see her silently sobbing.
"Odette, honey, what's wrong?" I whispered.
"Why is he such a horrible person, he should have taken care of them, of me," she sobbed into my chest.
"I know hon, I know," I whispered, stroking her hair.
"Are they all safe?" She asked me.
"They are honey, I promise they are, now sleep, you deserve it," I whispered, and I felt her relax in my arms once more.
-Odette's POV-
The next morning everyone seemed happier, Feyre and Rhys were both smiling brightly, Mor was almost glowing, Cassian and Azriel were bantering, more than usual, it was like we hadn't been about to fight a war yesterday.
A sharp knock on the door had everyone quieting down. Rhys went to the door, returning not long after with one of the Spring nobles.
"Lady Odette, you have been ordered to return to your place in the Spring Court by your High Lord, failure to comply will result in those you love being punished." They announced.
I felt Mor stiffen from next to me.
"I do not belong to the Spring Court, Rhysand is my High Lord," I told him coldly.
"You are the High Lord's Daughter; you must return or those you love will be punished." He said again.
I let out a long breath.
"Listen to me, all of you, you do not come for me, I will figure this out and come back but you can't intervene, cauldron knows what Tamlin will do if he finds out. stay safe until I get back, ok?" I said, looking to all of them.
"No way in hell," Mor snarled.
"I love you Mor, I love you more than anything in this world, I will be back soon, I promise, you just have to be strong for me." I told her, eyes filling with tears as I took her face in my hands and pressed one last kiss to her lips.
I turned to the Spring Court male and took his outstretched hand, letting him winnow us back to the manor.
Tamlin was furious when he saw me, and I knew I was completely done for.
"Grab her," he snarled, and two guards took my arms, I rolled my eyes.
They dragged me forwards until I was within striking distance of him.
"You are going to listen to me closely, you will go up to the tower and be a good girl until your wedding that will unite the Spring and Autumn Courts." He snarled in my face.
"I'm mated already, a marriage would be irrelevant," I told him, glaring.
"You lie," he hissed.
"I don't lie, I have been mated for a while now, and I love them with my whole being, you took me from my mate, my court, and I doubt they are very happy right now," I hissed at him.
"Who could your mate possibly be?" he sneered.
"The Morrigan, Truth Speaker, is my mate, and I belong to the Night Court, I have done since you tried to murder me." I snapped.
"Damn right you do," Mor's voice said from behind me, I smiled.
"Taking a member of my court was not appreciated." Rhys's voice continued.
"And trying to marry me off was also not overly appreciated," I added.
"So, give her back to her Court Tamlin before you start a war you can't win." Thesan's voice said, I blinked in surprise, looking round to see all of the High Lords stood with my family, minus Beron obviously.
I heard him draw his blade but before I could react there was a crunch from behind me.
I whirled to see his sword arm broken in at least three places.
"Tamlin, you have been accused of kidnapping, assault, murder, abuse, and forcing marriage." Helion said, stepping forwards.
"The punishment for these crimes is death, but you don't have an heir other than Odette, who clearly wants nothing to do with your court, so you will be placed in the prison, until a transferal of power can occur." Thesan took over.
Rhys walked forwards stopping next to me terrified looking father.
"I, Rhysand, High Lord of the Night Court, sentence you to spend your sentence in the Prison," he breathed, placing a hand to Tamlin's chest, causing him to vanish.
I turned and ran for my mate, hugging her tightly as tears flowed down my cheeks.
"Go on both of you, have your happily ever after," Feyre told us, and we obliged.
