-Odette's POV-

There was so much pain, there wasn't a single part of my body exempt from the fire burning though my veins.

"Shhh, it's ok, you're going to be ok," a familiar voice whispered to me, I had a vague sense of someone running their fingers through my hair.

I tried to speak but a groan came out instead.

"Don't try and talk, you need to save your energy," the voice told me, I still couldn't place it.

I wanted to do something other than lay still.

"Here, drink this, it will help," a second voice told me.

I felt the cold of a glass against my lip, and I swallowed the liquid.

They were right, I felt strength seep into my body until I felt well enough to open my eyes.

Mor and Feyre were sat next to my bed.

"You got me out?" I whispered, shocked.

"We weren't going to leave you behind, you nearly died on us but I basically kidnapped Thesan to come and save you." Mor told me, tears slowly running down her face.

"I'm sorry I did that to you, I'm not worth the trouble I caused," I told them, looking away.

"You are more than worth the trouble Odette, Clara would have killed us if we didn't save you and I must confess, in the short time we have known you we have all grown a little attached," Feyre told me, taking my hand.

"You really mean that?" I half gasped.

"Of course, now let's get you sat up," Mor said, supporting my still weak body as I sat up.

"Is Clara, ok?" I asked once I was propped up against a pile of pillows.

"She's talking with Helion, she's his great niece." Feyre told me, I nodded.

"She hasn't left your side once, she slept in this chair and used your bathing room just to make sure you were always ok, she is going to be so mad when one of us tells her you woke while she was with Helion," Mor laughed.

"Maybe you should tell her sooner rather than later, Clara is terrifying when angry," I said, thinking back to the time Tamlin broke my ribs for the first time.

"I'll go and do than now," Feyre said, giving my hand one last squeeze before leaving.

"I'm really tempted to shift just so I'm not in pain," I mumbled.

"You're not allowed to shift until you are stronger, you understand?" Mor asked.

"Yes," I sighed.

"Odette!" Clara yelled as she ran in and pulled me into a hug.

"I missed you too," I laughed.

"I'm so glad you are ok, I was so worried about you," she said, tears ran down her face as she pulled away.

"I'm ok Clara, really, you know I heal quickly," I told her, she gave me a grim smile.

"I'm beginning to think you can't die," a familiar voice said form the doorway.

I looked over and saw sun dude, Helion.

"I think that has more to do with Thesan's amazing healing abilities," I replied.

"You two know each other?" Clara asked, looking between us.

"We met at the High Lords meeting, even if he did have to be nosey and point out my existence to everyone," I told her.

"I thought you were a spy," he said as he walked into the room.

"And I thought I was doing a good job of staying hidden," I grumbled.

"You ruined your disguise the second you flew into the room, only fae can enter that room when all the High Lords are there so our meeting doesn't get interrupted by things like birds, of course Thesan didn't think any spy would be stupid enough to announce its presence and put the ward up again." He explained.

"Well now I feel like a real idiot," I sighed.

"You weren't to know, now I need to get back to my court, are you coming home Clara?" I looked between them.

"You lived in the Day Court?" I asked her.

"I did, so did your mother before we ran away to explore the courts, we stayed in Spring because your mother loved it there, then she fell pregnant with you after Calanmai one year, and you know the rest," she explained.

"Go back home Clara, I promise I will be fine you know that you taught me everything I will ever need to know," I told her, she gave me a soft smile.

"Will you write?" She asked, I nodded, and she pressed a kiss to the top of my head.

"I'm glad you got out," she whispered before taking Helion's hand.

Mor walked back in with a healer who checked me over and saying I was allowed to get up if I had help.

Mor got me on my feet and let me lean into her as I walked a few steps to the vanity and sat.

She got me out some loose clothes and helped me change before I went downstairs.

"How are you doing?" Rhys asked.

"I'm doing great, I'm just loving life, my father just tried to kill me, again, the female I considered my mother is now in an entirely different court, I can't even walk on my own, let alone shift, so I'm just peachy" I replied sarcastically.

"Right, sorry," he winced.

"It's fine, I shouldn't have snapped at you," I sighed, Mor squeezed my shoulder in comfort.

"Can we do anything to help?" Mor asked.

"No, you'd think I would be used to this now, I've spent my whole life being beaten into oblivion then forcing myself up the next day only to be beaten again, this is my life, I should be fine," I was talking mostly to myself, but the others all seemed to take it to heart.

"That isn't right, that never should have happened to you Odette, and you did almost die, you are allowed to spend time recovering." Feyre told me, I just nodded.

"We didn't get to show you Velaris last time, rest for today and I can show you tomorrow," Mor said, a bright smile on her face.

"That would be amazing," I told her with a small smile.

Mor sat with me for the rest of the day, keeping me entertained, I was more than exited for the next day so when it finally rolled around, I made myself get up and get dressed.

"You should have let me help!" Mor exclaimed.

"I'm fine Mor, I feel a lot better," I told her, giving her a reassuring smile.

"Ready for your tour?" She asked.

"More than ready," I replied with a grin.
