The green flushed throughout the dense forest. The pure green to the hint of red in the bark was like veins in the crevices. Like each vein of the green grass. Would soon start to dry out and wilt. The folds of the skirt unraveled in the air. The light pink that matched the pitch black of her skin with gray spots of freckles decorated her. The light giggles followed her as she spoke.

Her voice was soft as a peaceful breeze, "It's such a nice day. Thank you for joining me on my walk today!" she gestured to the nature around them. A rabbit came up to them. The rabbit had droopy ears with black splotches decorating the white fur.

The girl looked at the other with a glint of pride. "Why don't you pet it?" The asking question was unlike others. "No." They responded with disgust in their eyes. It wasn't the rabbit that disgusted them. It's where it had been.

As they heard the water draw them closer, the other began to look at the girl more. "It's peaceful, isn't it?" The girl asked. She turned to the other. "Arson, are you okay?" The worry slipped within her voice, "I'm fine, Death, just peachy!" They grew a fake smile to please their sister. Death couldn't help the sinking feeling in their gut as the rushing water seen from the short distance they were.

They stood a few feet away from the water. Eyes crawling up the deep line of water. To a steep waterfall that started to break off into the smaller ones. Death looked at her sister, memorized by the beauty of the area. The freshly planted daylilies sat close to the edge of the water. Knowing Death, she was careless and most likely burned herself. That would explain the bandages a few weeks back.

Arson began to wonder why Death wanted her to join her walk today. It was like any other walk, tedious and dumb. The healthy moss grew on the rocks around them, and vines hung from trees. Flowers of all sizes could be seen, sowed around the area that seemed unreal. Maybe it was the beauty Death wanted to show her. She sat unsurely and kept her distance between them.

The peace sat in a dark place. Unable to crawl out of hiding. The reflection of the blade met the sun. It bounced to Arson, who dodged a close call. They swung the sword back down. It only hit the dirt.

Arson got out their ax that had a blue hue covering it. They lunged at them again. This time, for their neck. The ax hit the incoming hit with the full intention of a deadly blow.

The ax made a scratch on the pitch-black skin. Death went up in the golden flames.

Death could only back away. However, what was behind her left her unknown. The girl fell into the deep water. Her screams left the air bubbles to fend for themselves as she traveled deeper down. The water burned her skin, hotter than fire. It started to fill her mouth, then her throat, and finally her lungs. She could no longer scream. Only watch her sister stand at the top with a horrified look.

Her skin started to wither, so the rest of her body would only be ash at the bottom.
