It was a cold December.
"Philllll!" Dan yelled. "What?" Phil yelled from across their flat. "You ate my cereal! AGAIN." Dan screeched. "I'm sorry Dan, I was just really hungry and my cereal ran out. I'll just buy another box today, don't worry!" Phil assured Dan, but Dan wasn't entirely convinced. "I promise!" Phil raised his hand as if he knew that Dan wasn't entirely too convinced. "Buy two boxes just in case. Okay?" Dan told the blue eyed man.
After a while, Phil asked Dan to accompany him in Christmas shopping. He told Dan to help him choose decorations for Christmas, and that included a Christmas tree and some ornaments with wreaths and prop gift boxes. Dan agreed and they went out at 3 pm.
"Dan, this looks great to hang on our door outside," Phil raised up a wreath covered in white and gold strips of cloth. "Well yeah, that looks good. But wouldn't you think that that," Dan pointed at a wreath with black and blue cloth, "would look better with the christmas tree?" He asked the confused man. "But Dan, this IS black and blue!" Phil countered. "You need to get your eyes checked, that one," Dan pointed at the wreath Phil was holding, "is white and gold." Dan sighed. "This is black and blue!" "white and gold, Phil." "Black and blue!" "White and gold." "Black and--"
"Philllll. Just buy it and let's get over it please?" Dan sighed yet again, obviously pestered by the fact that they were arguing over such a nonsense point. "Phil Pester," he muttered under his breath. "What?" Phil scrunched his nose and pushed his glasses up. "Oh no no nothing!" Dan waved his hands.
The two also bought white ornaments with gold glitter designs around it, two meters of christmas lights and two boxes of cereal. They checked out the items and walked home. While walking, Phil was humming a tune stuck in his head for weeks. "Wow Phil you surely don't have that tune stuck in your head for centuries." Dan rolled his eyes. "Well I can't help it, it's irresistible! Also, it just got stuck in my head like, just one yesterday you know. Plus it makes me want to dance dance!"
"Phil, are you making puns out of song titles from Fall Out Boy again?" Dan grinned at him. "Oh well, Fall Out Boy is awesome." And the two walked back to their flat, knowing that even though they may sometimes get into pointless arguments, they still find something to bond with even though it was not on purpose.
Again, after walking up the many flights of stairs they had to take in order to get to their flat, they finally got to their floor. Again, Dan fumbled for a key for a few minutes. Phil dropped the bag he was carrying since it was becoming heavier by the minute. After a while, Dan finally found his keys with a sweaty palm. "Wow well that took you 'centuries'," Phil giggled and nudged him. "Shut up," Dan told him jokingly while smiling. Their flat looked and felt dull, but they were going to change it up, christmas style.
Dan took charge of the christmas lights. He attached hooks on the wall in their living room and latched on a meter of christmas lights. This took approximately 40 minutes. On the other hand, Phil took charge of the ornaments. He hung all in a specific place he designed earlier before Dan woke up. After Phil hung all the ornaments, Dan latched on another meter of christmas lights, this time around their average sized christmas tree. He then switched the lights on and the room lit up. The light sparkled, warmly welcoming anyone who went inside the room. It was a beautiful sight to capture, surely another one of their wonderful memoirs.
"Job well done to the two of us huh?" Dan gleamed. "Yeah. There's only one thing left..." Phil beamed at the hazel haired boy. He pulled out the huge wreath that they just fought on earlier. The wreath shone, with the white sash dangling so innocently and the small gold sash wrapped tightly around the white sash. The tips of the two sashs ended just like a snake's tongue, and it curled up as if it was just new. "I have an idea--" "So did My Chemical Romance." Dan interrupted him jestingly with a smile from ear to ear. "Dan!" Phil smiled, letting a giggle escape his soft cherry lips. "Anyway, I think this would look good outside. Don't you think?" Phil suggested. Dan quickly nodded and the two hung it outside their door, like a warm welcome to those who come to visit them.
"A day well spent," Dan remarked. "We should've filmed this!" Phil squeaked as he realized how good of a video this would turn out. "Yeah we should've... but let's just do it next year. We have a lot more christmases to make a video for." "True that."
