𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 [𝟑]

chapter seven.

AFTER SHE finished her tea, Andrea approached the door of the small room, glancing around. "Nice room." She smiled, noticing all the posters of classic movies. "Like you care." Marcus barely looks up from the novel in his hands. "Carrie. Nice choice, Ziggy and I really loved Stephen King." She says.

"I just started it." He says, not bothering to look up and Andy just sighs. "Can I just say something?" She says and he finally sits up, setting down the book where he put the little note between the pages he was on.

"I'm all ears, auntie. Go on." He says and it sounds a bit sarcastic and snarky. "After everything I went through, Mar. I don't belong here, or in Sunnyvale." She says and sighed, walking over to sit at the end of his bed. "But this is your home, Andy... I'm here, my mom's here, your mom's here. And most of all, Ziggy's here." He says, crossing his arms.

"But so is the rest of the Goode family... Will and his stupid, annoying wife, she acts like she's better than me for making babies before me... whatever, fuck, I just don't wanna live here anymore. All I know is Shadyside, Sunnyvale. I wanna be out there... you know?" She says, looking at the teenage boy.

"I feel the same way..." Marcus sighed, looking down and Andrea stared at the boy then suddenly an idea popped into her mind. "Why don't you come with me?" She said and he looked up right away. "What?" He says and she nods. "Yeah... it'd be perfect, right? You and I got along ever since you were a baby... And you need to get out of here too, especially after all you've been through too, all because of my husband's family and all." She explains.

"Yeah... but my parents--" "but nothing. I'll talk to them. I'm a good negotiator." She smiled and he just chuckled softly. "Okay... but, if we do, can I get the big room?" He asked and the woman simply laughs at that. "Of course, kid." She said and then she got up. "I have to go see another person before I go meet Ziggy, but I'll be back later to talk to your mom." She said as she stood up and the boy just nods.

"I'll see you later, Andy..."

The next person Andy wanted to see was her mom. She knocked on the door and her elderly mother opens the door, "oh, my dear girl... Hi." She smiled softly at the woman who just smiled widely at her mom. "Hi mom... I'm guessing that you've heard what happened on the news?" She said and her mom nods.

"I'm sorry about your husband, honey..." She said and Andy walked into the doorway, putting her arms around her mom as her eyes water. "I just can't believe everything has been a lie..." She said quietly as her mom comforts her, rubbing her back and caressing her hair.

In the livingroom, Andy laid with her head on her mom's lap as the elder softly brushed her hair with her fingers. "It's just so terrible... I mean I always had a weird vibe off him but you were so happy marrying him, I was happy for you." She says and Andy sniffled.

"I wasn't happy. It was all a charade," she suddenly sat up, turning to look at her mom. "Mom, he made a deal with the devil to be with me... He didn't want me with Ziggy." She whispered and her mom looks at her with a softened look on her face.

"You wanted to be with Ziggy?" Mindy Davis asked her daughter who just softly nodded. "Yeah... I did." Tears roll down Andrea Davis' face even more as she finally came out to her mom since she first knew she liked girls. "How long have you known?" Is all the woman asked her daughter who sniffles.

"Since I first met Ziggy and thought she was really pretty. Then I met her sister and thought wow, she's also really pretty." She chuckled softly and her mom just smiles. "Andy, I don't care what gender of the person you love... Just as long as you're true to yourself. Dating Nick, and marrying him wasn't being true to yourself. And now you have a chance to fix it, now that you and Christine made up." She says.

"Yeah, but that's the problem..." Andrea sighed, looking away as she finally gets to the other point, telling her mom she was moving away. She licked her lips, wiping away her tears and brushing her hair out of her face.

"I'm moving, mom..." She looked at her mom who simply looked away. "Where to?" The elderly woman asked her daughter who sighed. "I was thinking New York but that's a little basic, so I chose Chicago instead... I'm looking for a teaching job there and I'm thinking of asking Susie to let me take Marcus with me, he deserves it. To leave Shadyside after... you know." She says and her mom looks at her.

"You're such a good aunt... always looking out for him. But do you really think Susie will let you? After all, he is their only son..." She says, meaning Susan and Adam didn't have another child before or after Marcus.

"I-I don't know... maybe a little convincing, she will give in. It's not like we'll never come back. We'll come back for Thanksgiving, winter breaks, Spring breaks and for summer." She says and Mindy simply nodded.

"Whatever makes you happy, my girl..."

And after her talk with her mom, Andy was now on her way to meet with Ziggy. The other had said she'd go and buy some burgers and milkshakes for them, along with the sides of onion rings and french fries so all she had to do was meet Ziggy at her place.

When she got there, she let out a soft sigh. She had to tell her. And with everything all happening so suddenly, it's not like Ziggy will be thrilled or even want to leave Shadyside to go live with her after everything, they're not exactly on the best state at the moment. Sure, Andy lives with her and Ziggy has forgiven her, but it's not like they can start over completely.

+ i think i'm gonna update every chapter to the end to get this fic out of my way, i just don't wanna worry about it anymore, it'll finally just all be out there lmao 😭
