Prompt: Write about a character on the road, and on the run

"Come on, come on!!! We gotta go!"

"I'm here, lets go"

Act like nothing's wrong, keep your voice low and quiet. Stay focused.

"Hey, JC, you alright man?" a voice startled me out of the silent whirlpool.

"Am I alright, Am I Alright? I JUST SAW YOUR SISTER SHOOT SOMEONE!!! How could I be alright?"

"I didn't shoot someone, JC, I shot a SOACI officer, and now I'm getting us out of this hell of a city."

"A SOACI officer? As in the guys that deal with 'mistakes'?"

"Yep. Those monsters"

I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die in the middle of nowhere, on the run with my two best friends for shooting someone.

"JC are you even listening to me?" Huh? Oh, Fae was still talking.

Time passed by on a broken clock, every tick unequal in time. But no sirens, never any telltale that we had done anything wrong. I decided to close my eyes for a bit, maybe then I would feel less sick.

"I'm sleeping off the shock, don't wake me up."

"Ok"
