Prompt: Write a poem to your younger self, saying all the things you needed to hear
It's ok to not be perfect
If you give your best that's enough
Even if others don't think it is
But don't try to go past your breaking point
Because it is no longer your best at that point.
Don't listen to what others say,
Just pop in earphones and let the music take you,
Embrace that you're different and move on,
No need to dwell on it.
If you wouldn't go to that person for advice,
Don't take their criticisms.
Others will be better than you, and that is ok.
Have fun with your friends,
you will need them and they will need you.
Those images that run through your head will become your greatest joy,
Listen to what they say (except Tracy, she's a jerk)
Respect will get you far in life,
Don't have a snake for a tongue.
Be flexible and sturdy for others,
they are going through life with you.
Older doesn't always mean more mature,
It's up to you to be responsible.
Most importantly,
Love unconditionally until given a reason to not,
No one is entitled to you.
And just enjoy what happens.
