JAMES POV
I opened my eyes to find myself sat up in a white bed in a white room. "Doctor, he's awake." A nurse called as she stood in the doorway. A few moments later, a familiar doctor came in.
"James, how are you feeling?" He asked softly.
"I'm ok. Where's Beau?" I eagerly asked.
"He's outside, Nurse, go get Mr Yammouni's friend, please." He ordered. "We sorted your leg out. We cleaned it with antiseptic, removed the bullet, then stitched and banged it up. You'll need some medication and crutches for a week or so. Is that okay?"
I nodded, only half-listening because my mind was wanting answers from Beau. "That's fine."
Almost on que, Beau entered the room, walking awkwardly with his head down and hands in his pockets. He remained at the end of the bed next to the doctor and he was shuffling his feet around and itching his face.
"I'll leave you two alone..." The doctor said before exiting the small room.
"Beau?" I asked. He gazed up slowly, hardly making eye contact.
"Erm..." He mumbled as he rubbed the back of his head. "We should leave." He stated before he began to turn around.
"Beau!" I almost shouted, losing my patience. He stopped in his tracks and tilted his head back to me before exhaling deeply.
"Alright." He sighed as he pulled a cheap hospital chair up beside me. "You won't like this, but knowing you, you won't ever let this one go. Your mum said..."
BEAU POV [1HR EARLIER]
"Please, sit down." James' mum gestured as I entered the plain house. I did as she asked, and sat down on an old pale pink 2-seater. James' mum sat on a similar armchair and messed with her hair. "Would you like a drink?"
"Not meaning to sound rude, but I just want answers, I need to get back to him." I smiled awkwardly.
"I understand. What happened to my son anyway?" She asked curiously.
I thought, "it's a long story, but I don't know if I could trust you..."
"It wasn't..." She mumbled something under her breath. "No, it can't have been..."
I looked at her confused. "Couldn't have been what?"
Her eyes widened. "You all know what happened all them years ago, don't you? With Cameron?"
I became nervous but nodded.
"Well..." she began. "He's after you boys."
I nodded, "We know, he shot James when he was trying to protect us and his girlfriend...ex-girlfriendI mean."
She smiled. "He's always been so caring for others." I could tell she was proud that he was protecting us. "Cameron wants revenge, he's not going to stop until he gets it." She looked down. "He's watching me. Every move I make he sees, but I'm safe in here."
"Has he ever done anything to you? He dated James' ex, Jess, after they broke up and he wasn't exactly nice with her. He'd punch her and stuff..." I said as I rubbed my upper arm.
"He has beat me up a few times, but I have a gun and threaten to tell when he comes near me." She said quietly.
"Where have you been? Why didn't you come for James? Are you the only person that is alive?" My questions poured out all at once.
She laughed slightly at my curiosity. "I've been here keeping on the downlow. I wanted to track you boys down so much, but it was risky, I would be putting you all at risk of being found. And no...we're all alive. Even your mum, Daniel's family, and the rest of James' family. But we're all in different places. Cameron promised not to kill you if we faked being dead and never talked to any of you again."
I took in all the information. "Do you have any idea where everyone is?" I asked hopefully.
"I only know for sure where Joyce and Rita and them are, they're in France. All I know about everyone else is that they're still in this country, sorry, Beau." She sighed.
I nodded feeling disapointed. "I need to go now anyway." I said as I got up from my place. "Thank you. Can't you come back with us?"
"No." She whispered. "But Beau,"
I listened.
"Cameron is planning something BIG! He will kill you. He promised he wouldn't, but he's not trustworthy. He knows a lot of people and is dangerous. Please, Beau, look after each other. I don't want any of you getting hurt. It's okay to run from him if it's too risky to fight him."
I thanked her for the valuable information.
"Give James a hug for me." She blurted out behind me.
I nodded, "I will."
JAMES POV
"So what are we going to do?" Beau asked me.
"Well first, get my mum. Then, fight him."
"But we can't!" Beau stated.
"I will protect her! I don't care, I need her. And we'll find everyone else!" I told him.
"Okay." Beau nodded as we both stood up to leave the hospital. "James,"
I looked at him before he embraced me in a large, warm hug. "Your mum loves you." He smiled.
