Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know that this chapter is different and strays a bit from Jay and Emma's story BUT it's an important part of it as well, so that is why I added it. Just thought I'd warn you about that!

Jay

The lads were open to my idea and surprisingly, even thought it was a great plan. I really thought it would work. I’m not sure what exactly I was expecting to happen, but I did not expect Emma to get up and leave as soon as the song was over. Fortunately, I’ll Be Your Strength was the last song of our performance. When we get backstage, everyone is excited to go out and enjoy the rest of the night at the party but all I could think about was Emma. I had to find her. Just as we’re all about to leave, Max says he forgot his phone in the backstage lounge. Tom, who has had the most to drink already, slurs “Hurry it up, mate. I see some hot babes out there!” Max goes off to find his phone. I can tell Tom and even Nathan are anxious to go, so I say “You lads can just go. I’ll wait for Max here and we’ll meet you out there.” Siva, Nathan and Tom exit the backstage and a few seconds later, I hear a few girls screaming with excitement as they enter the crowd. I shake my head and smile. It happens every time, without fail. I sit there trying to think of all the different things I want to tell Emma when I finally see her. There are just so many things that I want to say but nothing sounds good enough. After what feels like an eternity, I check my watch. Max has been gone for 15 minutes. I decide I should go check on him and make sure he’s okay. Just as I’m standing up, one of the backstage doors opens. My jaw drops open when I see Jamie at the door, struggling to hold Max up, who is covered in blood.

 Jamie

When Jeremy takes my hand and leads me through the crowd of people, I turn back towards the girls for reassurance. Emma, the only one who actually noticed us leaving, winks in my direction. This has never happened to me before. A guy has never been this interested in me, and I’ve never liked a guy as much as I like Jeremy. My heart is starting to beat faster with excitement. As we’re walking through the crowd, many people stop to talk to Jeremy. Everyone seems to know who he is. I really don’t know what to do with myself, so I just stand there awkwardly and smile. I’m kind of bothered that he doesn’t even introduce me to anyone, but I guess it’s because there are just too many people here and it’s too loud to hear anyway, so what would be the point? Finally, we arrive at a door that says VIP. There is a tall, muscular guy standing in front of the door. He looks like the kind of guy who could knock you out just by giving you a high-five. He freaks me out. However, when he sees Jeremy, he actually smiles and opens the door for us. We walk into what I am guessing is the VIP lounge. It’s dimly lit, which adds to the appeal and sophistication of the room. There another couple there, but they’re a bit too preoccupied with each other to even notice us. “Okay Jeremy. Who the heck are you?” He laughs at my question, “What do you mean?” I try to find a way to explain myself without sounding like a huge dork “I mean, you’re obviously someone important around here. Everyone knows you!” Jeremy just shrugs and actually looks embarrassed “You would be well known too if you went to almost every party in the past 4 years. I’ve built a reputation for myself, I guess.” He walks over to the bar and makes us some drinks. Apparently he knows a thing or two about bartending as well.

Soon enough, we’re sitting on one of the lounge couches making small talk. The other couple is gone by now, so we’re alone in the lounge. Jeremy is telling me a story about something he did to his brother when he was younger. He stops mid-sentence and I look at him to see why he stopped. His blue eyes are looking right at me. I’m about to ask him if everything’s okay when he says, “Jamie, you are so beautiful.” All of a sudden, his lips are pressing against mine. I’m taken completely by surprise and have no idea what the hell to do. I’ve been kissed before, but I wasn’t expecting him to kiss me so suddenly. I somehow manage to get it together and soon enough, I’m kissing him back. I feel one of Jeremy’s hands on the hem of skirt. He starts kissing me with more urgency and pushes me against the back of the couch. His hand is now underneath my skirt, making its way up my thighs. I try pushing him off me, but I can’t. My heart starts beating even faster. I break away from our kiss, “Jeremy, stop.” I try pushing against him again but he grabs my hands and holds them above my head against the couch. He smiles and there’s a weird look in his eyes that really scares me. “Oh come on, Jamie. I’m just trying to have a little fun. We both know this is what you want.” He tries kissing me again but I turn my head away from him. “Stop or I’m going to scream.” Jeremy’s laugh fills the room “Go ahead. Scream. The music is so loud out there, nobody will hear you anyway.” He’s on top of me, his weight crushing my legs. I’m squirming, trying to get out of his grip but he’s too strong. I scream, but his lips crash down on mine, muffling the sound.

Suddenly, Jeremy isn’t on top of me anymore. It takes me a few seconds to realize what is going on. I sit up and that’s when I notice that Jeremy is fighting with someone, although I can’t tell who it is. All I see are fists punching Jeremy’s face and Jeremy fighting back. I jump up from the couch and run towards the door to look for help when out of the corner of my eye, I realize who Jeremy is fighting. Holy shit, you have got to be kidding me. Max? Max from The Wanted is here, fighting against Jeremy and rescuing me? Both guys are still going at it, neither wanting to give up. I see blood on the floor. My vision blurs and I feel like I’m going to throw up. I look around to see if I can find anything to help me, but all I see is a bottle of vodka on the bar counter so I grab that. I walk up to the guys as carefully as possible and when the moment is right, I swing the bottle towards Jeremy’s head with as much strength as I can. Jeremy stops fighting and drops to the ground with a loud thud. That’s when I realize what I’d just done and I let go of the bottle. It falls on the floor but fortunately it doesn’t break. The lounge is quiet now. All I can hear is my heart beating loudly in my ears. I look down at Jeremy. Although he deserved what he got, I say a quick prayer, hoping he didn’t get injured too badly. That’s when I remember who else is in the room. I turn around and see Max sitting on the floor, his head on his knees. I kneel down next to him and he looks up at me. When I see his face, I want to start crying. His left eye was closed shut and his lip seemed to be busted. He opens his mouth to say something but no sound comes out. I put my hand on his shoulder and he collapses into my arms. Crap. I get him some water and he seems to feel a bit better. I don’t know how I am able to pick him up off the floor, but somehow I get him to stand up.  We don’t say anything. I just walk him out of the lounge and he points me in which direction to go. I shouldn’t have been surprised to see Jay in the room Max told me to go to. They are in the same band, after all.

Jay looks confused when he sees us “Jamie, what happened?” I try to explain but I can’t seem to find the right words. Jay takes Max away from me and sits him down on a chair. Everything that happens after that is a mixed blur. I remember Jay calling out my name but he sounded really distant and then everything was pitch black. Next thing I know, I’m lying on a bed, wearing a white hospital gown. Emma is sitting on a chair next to me, her cheeks stained with tears.

Emma

We searched around for Jamie but couldn’t find her anywhere. Scarlet was the last one to see her and she said she’d gone with Jeremy but she wasn’t sure in which direction they went. Just as we’re going outside, we run into Tom and Siva. Scarlet rolls her eyes. Siva looks relieved when he sees me, “Emma, you need to get to the hospital right now!” I’m really confused and have no idea what Siva is talking about but I try to keep calm and not think of the worst-case scenario, although there are fifty possible situations going through my head. Since Siva and Tom are the ones I’m talking to, of course I think this has something to do with Jay. “What’s going on, guys? Is Jay okay?” Tom grabs my shoulders and shakes me a bit, “No, this isn’t about Jay! It’s your friend Jamie! She’s in the hospital and so is Max!” My heart drops and I take a step back away from them. Scarlet sounds angry as she says “Your accent is killing me right now. What are you guys talking about?” Siva shakes his head, “No time to explain now. We have to go!”

Lena, Scarlet, Siva, Tom and I cram into a cab and make our way to the hospital where Max and Jamie were taken. By the time we get there, they are both already in their own rooms. Since they only allow one visitor at a time, I go up to Jamie’s room first while everyone else stays in the waiting room. I’m nervous as I walk down the hospital hallway. I don’t know what to expect. I don’t even know what happened to her. When I push open her room door, my heart skips a beat. I see Jamie on the bed, her eyes closed, and IV hooked on to her arm. Jay is sitting on a chair next to her, and when he sees me walk in, he stands up quickly. His eyes are red, like if he’d been crying. Neither of us says anything. We just stand there looking at each other on either side of Jamie’s bed. I break the silence “What happened?”

***Author's Note***

I am aware that I ended this chapter at a really bad part but I just need you guys to bear with me for a bit more! I hope you enjoyed it either way. Thanks for reading!
