Chapter 21

**Important news at the end of this chapter!**

Jay

Emma, Lena and Scarlet all stand up quickly and walk out of the waiting room. The lads and I are suddenly quiet as we all remember the reason why we're in the hospital. Max.

Tom speaks first and asks Siva, "How's Max doing? Can we see him yet?" Siva sits down on a plastic chair between Nathan and Tom. He grabs a burger from the bag saying, "He's going to be fine. The doctor says he has a bruised rib, but fortunately, nothing is broken. Someone will let us know when we can see him. He's resting now."

Nathan, Tom and I let out a sigh of relief. At least he's going to be okay. Siva takes the opportunity of the girls being gone and before biting into his burger asks, "So Jay, what happened with Emma?"

Nathan and Tom sit up in unison, both interested in what I'm going to say. Nathan wiggles his eyebrows at me, "Yeah Jay, what happened with Emma? Where did you go? You were both gone for so long."

I think about my conversation with Emma in the café. I still can't believe we're back together. I had hoped for things to go well between us, but I guess I never thought she'd be willing to take me back after all the things I said to her.

The lads are all staring at me, waiting for an answer, "Well, we spoke and we forgave each other." I try but fail to keep the cheesy smile off my face as I say, "We're going to give it another shot."

Nathan laughs, "I figured as much when you referred to her as 'your girl'. Getting all possessive and protective now, aren't we?"

Tom slaps me on the shoulder and jokes, "Way to go, mate. Now you can finally stop moping around the hotel!"

We're insulting each other as usual when the doctor walks into the waiting room.

We all stand up suddenly, anxious to see Max. After what feels like an eternity of listening to him speak in medical terms, the doctor tells us we can go up to see him.

We're about to go up when the doors open and the three girls walk in. They're all smiling, so I'm guessing whatever happened to Jamie wasn't that bad.

Emma's smile widens when she sees me, and her eyes sparkle in the way they do when she's happy.

When the girls and I walk into Jamie's room, her nurse comes in and explains her situation. We all let out a huge sigh of relief, since we had been expecting something way worse.

Unfortunately, we can only see her for a short time since she needs to rest. Lena and Scarlet say goodbye to Jamie, since Lena has to get back to her baby, Mia and Scarlet has to be up early in the morning.

I tell Jamie I'd be let her rest but that I'd be waiting for her when she woke up.

We find the guys in the waiting room when we go down. Scarlet explains what was wrong with Jamie.

After saying goodbye to the guys, Lena and Scarlet leave. I noticed the way Lena and Nathan were looking at each other and make a mental note to ask Lena about that.

Strong arms hug me from behind and Jay kisses me on the cheek. I can feel my cheeks getting warm and try to stop my heart from beating like crazy. His touch always does that to me. He whispers in my ear, "You're so beautiful, Emma" before taking my hand and leading me towards the elevator where Nathan, Tom and Siva are.

When we get to Max's room, he's not in his bed. Tom's accent fills the room, "Wot the hell? Where'd he go?"

Everyone is confused. Siva goes to find a nurse and ask about Max's whereabouts when I figure it out. I take Jay's hand and tell Tom and Nathan that we'd be right back. They both raise their eyebrows at us and smirk. Nathan wiggles his eyebrows for effect. Jay rolls his eyebrows at them and follows me.

I figured if Max isn't in his room, there could really only be one place where he would be. I lead Jay down the hall to Jamie's room. The door is closed, so Jay and I peek through the window and sure enough, there he is.

Max is sitting on Jamie's bed. She's awake and looks embarrassed, her cheeks turning rosier by the minute, especially when Max reaches over and holds her hand.

I smile up at Jay and he pulls me towards him, making our bodies as close as they could be. He holds on to my face and he leans down to kiss me. My body burst with emotion. It feels like the greatest kiss ever.

We forget where we are. It's like if no one else exists in the world. Minutes later, when we finally pull away from each other, Jay smiles, saying, "Emma, I think we've started something quite beautiful."

I look through Jamie's window again, and when I see Max and Jamie talking to each other, I smile at Jay and say, "I think so too, Jay." Standing on my toes, I lean into him and we kiss again.

Jay and I had a rocky start to our relationship. I don't know what is going to happen between us in the future, but I do know that this really is the beginning of something wonderful.

***Author's note***

You guys, this is it. This is the end of Jay and Emma's story! It's been an incredible 5 months in the making. I know many of you will probably be upset with the ending because you were expecting more but I didn't want to make it any longer so that you don't get bored of it.

And anyways, I've decided to make a series which will be known as Confessions of a Conflicted Fangirl. You will be able to hear more about Jay and Emma's relationship in part 2 of the series, I Found You (A Max George fanfic). In case you haven't already figured it out, I Found You will be based on Jamie and Max! Ta-da! The first chapter will be posted within the next three weeks!
