Just one more class... I mentally sighed as I reached my locker.
I put in my combination and replaced the books in my hand with my supplies for Supernatural-American History with Ms. Weathers.
As I took out my last book, I overheard the conversation that was going on across the hall. It was Carmen and her two followers. They were fawning over the Alpha's son and the upcoming coronation.
"I'm so excited for Sage's coronation on Sunday! Are you guys ready?!" Sadie, the youngest identical twin henchman of the LPP, aka the Latina Plastic Posy, gushed.
"Of course I am! He's been gone five years too long! I can't wait to see how soon-to-be twenty-six looks on him!" Sasha, the older twin replied, biting her lip with a thirsty glint in her eye.
"Do you think he's found his mate yet?" Sadie asked with a giddy smile, her sister mimicking her excitement.
"Ay diosa mía {Oh my goddess}, I hope not!" The twins' smiles immediately dropped in disappointment." I still haven't gotten my chance to woo him yet! If I do, then maybe he'll make me Luna and reject his mate to be with me!" Carmen, the leader of the LPP, smirked.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance. The audacity!
Carmen was definitely not Luna material. The girl couldn't take her eyes off her reflection long enough to hold a proper conversation!
Personally, I think the fascination girls have with being Luna is overrated. Being the Alpha's mate is a tedious, stressful, and all-around soul-sucking job. Now add in the extra work of producing heirs and having to be friendly with everyone in the pack, and now you're the world's hardest-working and disgustingly underpaid trophy wife.
Besides, I'd rather not have people talk to me just because I'm fucking the Alpha. If they weren't paying me attention before, then they shouldn't now. Where's the authenticity in that?
"Honestly, I still can't believe it's been five years! It doesn't even feel like it's been that long! I'm dying to see him again! Eeeee!!" Sadie squealed. I cringed at the high-pitched sound.
"Who isn't?!" Sasha said with as much excitement as her twin.
"I'm pretty sure he's still as hot as ever," Carmen said, opening her compact mirror and painting her synthetic hyaluronic acid-filled lips with pink lip gloss. The twins, being the followers they were, rushed to open their compacts and put on their equally pink lip gloss.
"You know, you would be the best Luna, Carmen!" Sasha marveled.
"Si, la major! {Yes, the best!}" Sadie agreed.
"I know, right?! I mean, who wouldn't want me as their Luna?" Carmen replied, flipping her bleached hair over her shoulder.
Just as Carmen finished hyping herself up, the bell for last period rang, dismissing everyone to get to class. I rolled my eyes once more in annoyance and closed my locker before heading to Supernatural-American History.

For as long as I can remember, everyone in the Shadow Howlers Tribe has fallen over Sage Bianchi and his charming good looks. To be honest, I've never understood the fascination.
I mean, what's so amazing about a 6′3, Japanese-Italian-American asshole with broad shoulders, creamy-pale skin, juicy pink lips, and a lean-buff physique that donned an eight-pack and v-line of glory?
Sure, he had a bundle of short, black, silky curls cut into a taper fade. And, of course, he had great taste in clothes and a delicious sweet and salty aroma that smelled of the ocean with hints of vanilla and lavender... But what was so special about that?!
