"If only that was true" sighed Varian choosing to ignore the flirting feedback, "I guess I'd head back underground... all alone" he added packing his bag and heading towards the door.
"Wait- Perhaps we two could go out, you know as friends?" asked Cassandra feeling sorry for the kid.
"Thanks, Rapunzel, you're a mood saver" Varian cheered, before hugging Rapunzel and leaving the room whistling.
Present
The breeze blew past Cassandra's hair as she rode her beloved horse, Fidella.
She swiftly but gently pulled the reins making Fidella stop near the cliff.
Before her was an enchanting view of Corona... every shop and stall making it even more magnificent. She smiled to herself as she peeped to see two birds sitting not far away. She got off Fidella and tied her near a tree.
"Beautiful isn't it?" The voice of her partner called out.
She turned around to see Varian on a black horse ,as dark as midnight, approach.
"I still can't believe that you managed to get on the horse" she snorted.
"HA HA HA...very funny, I can do a lot of things you know" he said as he got off and tied the horse, named Midnight, next to Fidella.
"You know sometimes princess, I feel like I just don't belong here...I don't know why" Varian said as he picked up a flower near by.
"Like you feel like you are different and meant for something else" Cassandra continued for him.
"Yes...but only sometimes" He said, " I bet you feel it always...you know...after all a royal's life is more complicating that the one of his subjects."
"Wise words from an alchemist uh!" Cassandra said as she sat beside him.
"Ya...but because of you I am who I am now!" He said placing the flower on her hair.
She blushed and looked away.
"Hey there is this town I would love to take you to" Varian said as he got up and helped her up.
"I'd love to go there, how far is it?"
"About 10 miles from here...So, princess...I challenge you for a race" He said getting on Midnight.
"I accept your Challenge" She retorted as she began to untie Fidella.
"Then Race ya!" he yelled as he picked the reins and rode full speed down the hill.
"Wait that's cheating!" she yelled, grinning.
But the grin didn't last long. Her smile slowly begin to bend into frown.
Only Fidella managed to notice it. She nudged Cassandra on the shoulder.
"What's wrong with me? Nothing really... Just that," Cassandra sighed, "I wish he would just say something good about me not Rapunzel"
She hesitated before she continued, "But No, I am Rapunzel now not Cassandra...I shouldn't care, Cause Cassandra never cares about anything...Come one Fidella we have a race to win."
Meanwhile
"Do you think she is coming? Maybe she lost the way?" Varian said looking back.
Suddenly he could see some shady figure in the mist.
"Hmm....I think I can see something there" He said straining eyes.
Suddenly a brown horse emerge for the mist and was charging towards them.
"OH MY GOSH...ITS CHARGING TOWARDS US" Varian yelled as he closed his eyes.
But they never got hit.
Instead the rider managed to make her horse do a giant leap over them.
"You okay?" the rider asked.
"Oh...Rapunzel its just you!" he said panting.
"Yes...and I won" Cassandra said smirking.
"What you did there was crazy! How did you do that?" He asked.
"Cassandra taught me" she retorted.
"Wow...but scary at the same time...Never do that Again"
"I'll think about it" she said.
She turned around to look at the town he was talking about.
"WOW!" She said.
"Welcome to amour à deux "
