Ayato's POV
I felt as heartbroken as ever...I lost my Senpai to that Osano...
But why him? Why specifically him? What does he have that I don't? I tried so hard...
And he just walked into my life and took away everything that I spilled blood for.
I slowly walked to the school rooftop unable to decide what to do with my own life anymore. The pain was unbearable.
I sighed to myself. All my energy felt drained. As I opened the door to the roof I saw a girl up there. It was nearly afterschool, why didn't she leave yet? Anyways, why should I care?
I walked to the rooftop railing and leaned against it. She seemed to have caught her attention on me.
3rd POV
Y/N stared at the boy. He seemed kind of sad. She got up and closed her book. Maybe she should talk to him. She walked upto him. Before she could even touch his shoulder to notify about her presence and concern, he turned around.
'Wow, he got some reflexes...'
Thought Y/N as she tried to touch him. He warily moved his arm away. He had a rather bored expression which seemed pretty empty. Y/N didn't know how to react to this coldness...
Was he always like that or was it specifically her?
"Are you okay, you seemed a bit...sad earlier?" Y/N asked. He glared at her for a moment before relaxing his shoulders.
"Would've been just fine if I wouldn't have witnessed someone else confessing to the girl that I liked..."
Y/N flinched a little."That's rough." She said as she slowly glanced around, trying not to seem awkward.
Y/N was a pretty socially awkward student. She didn't make friends because she found it hard to trust people. She liked isolation way better. But again, she wished she had a few friends so she wouldn't be lonely all the time. She usually would read books in her free time and lived in her imaginary world.
Ayato sighed again before turning to face the cherry blossoms where Taeko and Osano were kissing. He cringed slightly.
"They don't even look good together." He said before looking behind to see a gigging Y/N.
Y/N smiled, "So, you like Taeko?"
He looked at her straight in the eye.
"I guess, I did. Not anymore..."
Y/N went to stand next to him leaning against the same railing.
"I used to be just like you, I loved someone too. But, they never noticed me and eventually hooked up with one of my own friends."
"Harsh..." He commented.
"Yeah, but it taught me an important lesson; to never waste my time on people who don't care, cause I gotta live this life to the fullest. After all, life is short." Y/N said as she stared at the purple-ish blue sky.
Ayato stared at the girl for a bit watching her H/C hair flowing in the air.
The bell rang as Y/N patted his back.
"Take care, Ayato-kun, I'll see you around!"
He was in a bit of shock. How did she know his name?
"Wait, how do-"
"We are in the same class!"
Y/N said as she picked up her school bag putting her book in it.
"And you are?"
Ayato asked as he walked to her. She stood up.
'Pretty short compared to me? Cute.' He thought.
"I'm Y/N L/N!"
She said before running to the exit doors.
"See you tomorrow, Ayato-kun! Goodbye!"
With that, she happily hopped down the stairs.
Ayato smirked licking his lips as he held the knife in his pocket.
"This is a new start."
