A New Beginning

Chapter 4: Lunch Together

"Where's Budo?" Y/N asked, confused, to Ayato.

He packed his things into his bag, then looked at her.

"Oh, I wish I knew," Ayato said with a calm smile.

"That's concerning..." Y/N sighed out. Ayato's smile stayed unwiped.

"I wouldn't be too concerned if I were you. He is a trained martial artist. I'm sure he will be just fine."

"Hmm...okay then. Let's grab lunch!" Y/N said, taking her bento out.

Ayato did the same and walked with her to the rooftop to eat lunch together.

"One down." He thought seeing the smoke of the incinerator from the roof.

A calm, light breeze blew by making Y/N's hair flow softly. She looked even more beautiful in the natural lighting.
"I can't wait...to make her mine forever..." Ayato thought but was brought back to reality when Y/N slapped his arm.

"Earth to Ayato!" She said, giggling.

He smiled awkwardly and she smiled back.

"Let's go over there and eat lunch together!"

She said as she almost dragged Ayato upto one of the benches.

"So, tell me about you!" She said, looking at him with her interested gaze.

They had a long conversation talking about each others' interests, likes and dislikes.

After they finished, Y/N got up.

"Thanks for having lunch with me! I'm gonna go hang out with my friends now, if you don't mind..?"

Ayato smiled, "Sure, sure! I don't wanna hold you back!"

She smiled back, "Thanks again! I'll see you later then. Bye!"

"Take care!"

And with that, Y/N was gone. She ran down the stairs to her friends who were giggling.

"Ooooh! What's up with that guy?"

Her F/N said, giggling with the rest of the girls.

"He's just a friend!"

"That's how relationships start, Y/N! "

She said but before Y/N could reply she said,

"Oh my god! I'm so happy for you!"

Y/N sighed.

"You're acting like I'm getting married, geez..."

"Well..."

Her F/N smirked.

"Everything starts slow!"

"F/N, YOU IDIOT!"

"Aw! Somebody is flustered because I spoke her heart!"

Y/N felt her heart flutter at the thought.

Being Ayato's girlfriend...maybe it wasn't that bad, hm?...
As she quickly pulled herself out of her thoughts, she realized just how red she had gotten.

Her friends walked away, giggling and teasing her. She was left there with her thoughts being brought back to the world by the sound of the bell signalling class had started.

"Oh shoot!"

She quickly made a run for her class.

After school, Y/N was changing her shoes at her shoe lockers and then picked her bag up, ready to leave.

She then noticed that Ayato was just standing at the gate as if waiting for someone there.

She blushed a bit remembering her friends' words but then took a deep breath.

"Okay, just a small talk."

She went upto Ayato and asked,

"Why're you just standing here? Are you gonna walk someone home? "

"Walk some- Oh. Well...I uh..."

He scratched the back of his neck, nervously.

"Wanted to walk you home..."

He completed, blushing.

"I'd love that!"
