You stirred out of sleep to see Ein's back facing the door. "Heading out?" You sleeply asked, letting out a yawn. "Oh I didn't think you were awake" Ein commented in surprise, turning to you. "I was just going to grab us some food" He said, ear slightly twitching. "I can come with you" You said, wincing. Trying to ignore the small stinging from the wound on your head. "No, it's fine to stay here, I can grab it," Ein quickly said. He was planning on bringing back dinner for you both. But first he had some business to deal with. Ein shut the door as you settled back into bed.
Ein made his way down the corridor, as the wolves rushed to avoid his path. It was a long walk deeper into the underground base. Seeing Tatianna standing in front of the large oak doors. The wolf woman had a few red claw marks across her face. "That disgusting Meif'wa managed to scrap you up?" Ein pointed out. "Apologies alpha, she put up more of a fight than we anticipated. The silver and black haired man entered the room. Looking across the cells as Michi rushed to greet him.
"Can you believe what that nastly wolf did to me?! Locking me in here like some sort of prisoner when that's nothing more than she is! I didn't even do anything, you have to let me out!" Michi cried to Ein. Her screeching words only fueled Ein's bubbling rage. "I TOLD YOU TO BRING HER TO ME UNHARMED" He lashed out, as Michi took several steps back.
The image of your blood stained body on the bed burned into his brain. It paralleled your motorcycle accident, seeing your bleeding broken body lying on the street. Where he was absolutely powerless to help you. With paramedics holding him back as they loaded you into the ambulance. Then being handcuffed by the police because someone recozied you both in the midst of the chaos.
That was the start of Ein losing you for years, what felt like a lifetime. You had been harmed again and this time he could do something. No one would ever take you away from him. That feeling of powerlessness, protectiveness, and utter rage. Would be Michi's undoing and what sealed her fate.
Tatianna had seen a lot since Ein took over the pack. The cruelty of humans, werewolves, and Meif'wa alike. Unfamiliar things she had to adapt to since being turned into a human. How her mountain home rejected her new form. That itself was a cruelty as well, but one from nature not out of hate. Hate was a word that she associated strongly with Ein, never had she met such a vengeful soul. There were very few times she was thankful to have her wolf features taken. Michi's screams of pain would have sounded a lot sharper if she was still a wolf.
Though she severely disliked Michi, Tatianna knew deep down she didn't deserve what Ein was doing to her. The injuries from members of the pack had been quite severe for a lot less. She could only imagine the hell he was inflicting on Michi for harming you. Tatianna would never dare to ask. But she did truely did wonder how a seemingly kind woman like yourself managed to captivate such a person, like Ein. Whatever it was she prayed that you would get out of this situation unbroken.
The door opened as she straightened her stance. Ein came out body language much calmer than before, but his gaze still held burning anger. It was hard to ignore the irony smell wafting out of the room before the door shut. Or the obvious blood splatter across his face and clothing. "Clean up and get rid of her body as far away from the lodge as possible. Hell feed her to the pack if that's what it takes" Ein ordered.
Laying in bed you wondered when Ein would return, it had been at least an hour since you woke up. How long have I been down here for more than a week? I really should be getting back soon. Irene, how am I going to be able to explain all of this... I'm sure they must be looking for me, or maybe something even more chaotic happened. And I fell through the cracks..
"I got f/f and a soda, I remember that being one of your favorites in highschool" Ein announced coming into the room. You greeted him with a pleased smile, surprised he remembered that small detail. Setting the two plates on the nightstand he turned back to you. "Was the shower really that long?" You amusingly said. His eyes widened for a second, "Oh right I just wanted to clean up a little bit" Ein shrugged. "Sure Sure" You chucked, as the both of you began eating.
Throughout the meal you tried to ignore the small voice in your head. Saying that Ein wasn't being truthful. From the time he spent out, keeping you in one room despite your injury healing up well. The most damning part being the small specks of red underneath Ein's fingernails. Something had happened and it was hard to believe that it was something good. "I think I feel well enough to head back up to the lodge" You said putting down the soda. "I don't think that's a good idea, what if they find out about us. They'll take you away from me again." Ein argured back. "All they need is some convincing, it's not going to be like last time. We're adults now" You said trying to sooth his worries.
"Your brother and friends hate me, I doubt that's changed. They've abandoned you once over me. What makes you think it won't happen again? Especially after your accident I was the only one there" Ein sharply pointed out. The pit in your stomach only grew, what if he was right? Even now things still felt delicate whenever the events in Phoenix Drop High were brought up. You knew deep down that you wouldn't be able to handle that again.
"I-I wasn't great back then either they had a reason to be upset..Things are better now" You weakly argured back. Then the look in his eyes changed "Alright maybe you should visit to test the waters..But before you go let me grab you some more medications and a drink". Ein quickly left the room and beelined it to the potion part of the tunnels.
"Here take these '' Ein handed you some pills and a water bottle. After taking them you hugged Ein goodbye, not feeling him smirk into your shoulder. He even led the way back until you started to feel sleepy. "Ein-" was all you were able to make out until everything faded out.
