Hold Me Close to You

Part 5

At School...

The sounds of students arriving to homeroom could be heard as they were sitting together. Before they had to sit in their assigned seats they liked to talk for a while as they waited for the teacher to arrive. Today was the day they would choose what club they would join. However, they were helping out one person in particular to choose one.

Lia held her head up with her hands as she glanced at the sheet of paper. There were a variety of options to select from. As she sighed from frustration, Yeji took the paper from her.

"Why not choose one that you previously did at your other school." Yeji suggested trying to help out, while placing the paper back on Lia's desk.

"I mean I did do drama, but I want to do something different." Lia said, "What about you guys? What clubs are you joining?"

"Well since Ryujin and I are on the soccer team, we've already been put in the soccer club." Yeji stated.

"You what know Lia? I think you should join the cheerleading club. It'll be perfect for you!" Yuna offered, "How flexible are you?"

"Oh! Show them how you used to stretch." Said Chaeryeong

Lia then stood up from her chair and started to pull her leg back.

"You mean this one?" She said as she kept pulling her leg forward. Her foot is now in front of her hip. Yeji, Ryujin, and Yuna looked at her in shock.

"Woah! Yeah, I think that's the club for you. And as an added bonus I'll be there too!" Exclaimed Yuna.

"Bonus? More like a curse." said Ryujin.

Yuna proceeded to throw a crumbled-up piece of paper at her who in response laughed.

"Wait, what club are you joining Chaeryeong?" asked Lia.

"Yeah. I've never seen you in any club before. Are you going to join one for your senior year?"

Weird. Lia never knew that. Actually, come to think of it, she never knew how Chaeryeong was before she came. All eyes focus on her as she closes the book she was reading and starts to contemplate.

"Well, I usually go to the Library for study hall, but I guess I can do something else for change as well."

"Wow, really?" Said Yeji.

Chaeryeong nodded. She grabbed the sheet of paper off of Lia's desk and skimmed through all the options with her finger as it finally stopped on one of them.

"Hmm. I think I'll try the cooking club out. I need to learn to help me in the future anyways.

the future huh? Lia thought to herself.

Yeji's POV

As class finished, I was on my way to Brit lit accompanied by Chaeryeong while continuing our conversation from before.

"You know you'll be lucky if you join the cooking club."

"Really? How is that?" She asks

"Are you kidding! Just the thought of being able to make your own food and eat it is awesome. It is just too good to be true!" I expressed.

My mouth is watering at the thought of it.

"You know if you have the chance, you should make me something."

Chaeryeong then stops walking and focuses on me.
