Part 8

"Thank you again for taking Chaeryeong's work to her Yeji. I know how serious that girl is about her grades." Said the teacher.

"Don't mention it!"

Today Chaeryeong wasn't at school, which was weird since she doesn't like missing a day at all.

Lia told us she wasn't feeling good and that she opted to stay home.

The day went by as normal, yet it wasn't normal for me. It was just Lia, Ryujin, and Yuna, and I today, but it just wasn't the same without Chaer.

Don't get me wrong, I love my friends, but there's too much going on with them. Yuna is always ball of energy who always ends up bickering with Ryujin. Both are like sisters I swear.

Lia is really chill and a likable person, and to be honest, it's been different ever since she came to Korea. I got to know both her and Chaeryeong more, and she's like and older sister to Yuna.

Even Ryujin seems to have had a liking to her to my surprise. She's not a person who opens easily to people, but this time she's seemed to have quickly enjoyed her presence.

They both love to tease each other and sometimes they seem like they're in their own world.

Hmm. Now that I think about it, they both complement each other very well. Sometimes it makes me wonder if they...

'Ahh! Yeji focus!'

The closer I get the more I feel out of place here.

Lia and Chaeryeong's neighborhood scream rich people. I always forget how stacked they are just because they aren't the type to flaunt their own wealth.

It's hilarious. Knowing Chaeryeong now she is definitely the complete opposite of what I thought she would be. Before I befriended Chaeryeong, she was already well known here in Korea as a Lee, who are a major powerhouse here in the business world.

Back then I wasn't that interested in these things, so I never knew who she was even though we attended the same high school and were in the same grade for a few years.

I rarely saw her since we were in different classes. And if I did see her, she was just another student passing by. 

Though I do remember hearing her name in a lot of gossip. How she was always alone, cold, and distant, which is the far from the truth.

She's shy but can be energetic in her own way. Her caring nature and tender heart are so natural that she doesn't even realize it.

Her laughter brings even your worst days to a happy mood. She can be like a mom at times always worrying about you. The way her eyes shine when she talks about things she's interested in is adorable and how her facial features are...

AAAH WHAT AM I THINKING?!?

I shake my head. 'Back to reality Yeji!'

I look down at my phone to the text Lia sent me.

As I turn the corner to Lia's street, I see someone leaving Lia's house and scurrying over to another as they climb over the gate.

Am I witnessing a crime or something?

"Wait a minute. Is that...Chaeryeong?"

I forgot she lives on the same street as Lia's, but what was she doing at Lia's house? If she's not feeling good, then she should be in bed. More importantly why is she climbing over the gate of her own house! Weird.
