Hold Me Close to You

Part 9

   It was nearing that time again as the school's soccer season was creeping around the corner. The schedule had just been posted a few weeks ago and today the whole school was excited for the upcoming pep rally to commence before the game today.

"You know what? I hope you guys lose."

"The fuck Yuna! Why would you say that?" said Ryujin as she threw her bottle of water at Yuna. Currently Yeji, Ryujin, and Yuna are having lunch in the cafeteria waiting for Lia and Chaeryeong.

"I was just kidding! You didn't have to throw that at me. Jeez." Yuna answered holding her head where Ryujin hit her while chucking the bottle back at her. "Anyways, how are you feeling Yeji? –I'm only asking Yeji not you Ryujin."

"To be honest I'm very nervous, especially since everyone at the school is excited to see me play, but It makes me feel better knowing all my friends will be there watching and cheering us on." Yeji answered with a genuine smile on her face.

"Ew. Your kindness makes me want to puke."

"Shut up Ryujin, you may act like you hate it, but you care don't you~" Yeji said teasing her and being satisfied when Ryujin only rolled her eyes and didn't have anything to say so instead, she decided to change the topic.

"Anyways where are Lia and Chaeryeong? Aren't they taking too long?" asked Yeji.

Just as she asked two hands covered her eyes, so she was unable to see anything. "Guess who." Said a voice that was not well hidden for Yeji as she immediately knew who it was. "Chaeryeong, I applaud you on your efforts, but you can't fool me."

Once her hands were removed from her face, Yeji was met with a pouting Chaeryeong. 'How cute' she thought to herself as she made her sit down next to her.

Lia joined them as she sat next to Yuna resting her head on Yuna's shoulders as she sighed. Then sighed again.

"what's wrong Lia? Did something bad happen?" Yuna asked worriedly.

"I bet you got in trouble for falling asleep in class again, right?" Ryujin poked her trying to tease Lia, but immediately stopped when Lia sent her glares in return.

"Don't mess with me Ryujin. Don't forget I'm still sad because of you."

"Aahh so that's what it is. You're still upset because of the kittens."

The others looked at each other with curious looks. "What did we miss?" Lia proceeded to sigh again.

*FLASHBACK*

Lia's POV

"On second thought, just stay close with me. I have this feeling you'll ditch me to save yourself."

"Hehehe of course not! Didn't even cross my mind once!"

'Damn looks like we'll die here together'

As we looked around there was something running around us. Plus, it seemed like there was more than one, but whatever it was it was still hidden from us.

*meow*

*meow*

"Oh my god! it was just kittens!" I quietly scream as to not scare them away. "Come here." Ryujin and I reach our hands out as the kittens gradually come close and eventually end up in each of our arms.

We spend our time petting and playing with them. it just makes it harder for me to leave.

"What should we name them, Ryujin?" I excitingly asked.
