The next morning Kageyama woke up to see Hinata sleeping peacefully against his chest. If he could stay like this all day he would, but sadly the world was cruel and made him go to school. Kageyama tried to get up without waking the sleeping read head, but Hinata woke up and whined at the loss of warmth. Kageyama noticed how cold Hinata would get. No matter how many blankets he had he was still shivering. Kageyama sighed and ran his fingers through Hinata's hair. The red head fell back into a deep sleep.
Kageyama quietly got dressed and ready for school. He made himself and Hinata a small breakfast and put a note on the table for the red-head. He then walked out the door and down the path. Feeling guilty about leaving the boy home alone, but he had no choice. Its not like he could stay home all day, or put Hinata in his pocket. The smaller boy didn't feel comfortable going to school for a while. He was scared his jack-ass father would show up and do some stupid things. Kageyama shook the thoughts from his head and continued down the path to school.
When Kageyama stepped into the gym everyone greeted him. The team has been a little down since their sunshine wasn't around, but they were all willing to do whatever it takes to get Hinata better. Practice continued, and Kageyama was a little sad he coudn't do his quick with his favorite spiker.....God he missed playing with the tangerine.
Hinata woke up a few hours after Kageyama left. He was dazed and felt slightly ill but nothing to major. Hinata didn't feel like getting up so he stayed in bed and looked at his phone. He new the team was trying their best to make him feel better but he couldn't help the feeling of numbness continuing to wash over him. Some days he was happy, some days he was sad, and some days....he would feel nothing at all....It scared him to death. He wanted to feel something on those days. Hinata got off his phone and went down stairs hoping to find a way to stop the bad thoughts running through his mind. He went to the fridge and took out the food Kageyama made for him. He sat down at the table and saw the note on the table.
Hey, I left for school already, obviously. There is breakfast in the fridge for you and some left overs from the other night for lunch. I'm going to be home early from practice so we can talk before Akari and Haru get there. Stay safe and call if you need anything!
Hinata smiled at the small note. He loved Kageyama with all his heart. He finished his breakfast and decided to do his homework from the last couple days. It was weird that he had the motivation to do something other than volleyball.
Time skip
"Hinata I'm home!" Kageyama called as he stepped through the door. He was greeted with a force running into his chest and knocking the wind out of him. He looked down and was met with a mop of orange hair. He smiled and wraped his arms around the smaller boy.
Hinata smiled at the gesture. It was calm no flinching, no yelling, and no crying just calm.
After a few minutes Kageyama let go and pulled away from Hinata. "I'm going to go get changed," He said as he kissed his forehead and walked to his room. Hinata went and sat on the couch and continued on his homework. He may have taken a nap or two......or three. Kageyama walked down the stairs and sat on the couch next to Hinata. Hinata didn't really acknowledge Kageyama. He had a feeling the ravennet wanted to talk about what happened the night before.
Kageyama waited a few minutes before gently taking the homework out of Hinata's hands and setting it down on the coffee table. Hinata sighed knowing he wasn't getting out of it. He turned and faced Kageyama with a saddened look. "I'm not mad at you from last night," Kageyama said gently, "can you tell me what made you do it." Hinata fell into Kageyama's chest and and breathed out slowly.
"After my nightmare I couldn't stop thinking about how the world would be better without me here. I remebered all the things my father would say to me during......" Hinata started to cry. Kageyama let him. He knew Hinata needed to cry or else he would sit their and bottle his emotions up until he bursts.
"Ok, why didn't you wake me up?" Kageyama asked quietly while running a hand through Hinata's hair and massaging his scalp.
"Because I didn't want to burden you...." Hinata sobbed out.
"Your never going to burden me. You are so much more important than acouple hours of sleep, ok?" Hinata nodded and hugged Kageyama tighter.
There was a knock at the door and Kageyama got up to answer it. "Hi Kageyama!" Akari said cheerfully. She walked in, taking her shoes off at the door, and walked over to Hinata.
"Hey bubs," she said taking a seat by Hinata and waited for Kageyama and Haru to take seats as well. Once everyone was settle in Akari started talking again. "How are you, hun," Akari asked gently. Hinata could only shrug his shoulders he didn't want to lie about his emotions anymore. Akari hugged him carefully. "I know its hard right now but you going to get through this ok?" Hinata nodded and hugged back.
They separated after a bit and Haru spoke "now I know none of us want to do this but....We need to talk about court dates and when you feel ready to do it, Hinata" Haru said sternly yet gently. Hinata nodded his head and prepared himself for a roller coaster of emotions.
