Alpha Costello's Fairy Luna

Chapter 12

Costello's Perspective:

I hit my fist through the wall in my office after Ersa comes in to tell me that she can't track down where Maddie is. Not even after I've given her a sweater of Maddie's, a hair brush, and one of her rings. It's because Maddie's done the spell of unreachability. It's where no one can track you down. 

My Mom puts her hand on Nelly's arm and gives her a reassuring look, then she looks up to me "Costello. We'll find her." I look at my mom as calmly as I can "Mom for all we know Monty's crew might have already gotten her, they could be hurting her."

My dad has a worrisome expression on his face as he says "Costello you're right. The days are up now, and for all we know she could be in a different country by now. I'm actually not sure what to do either."

Sebastian walks into my room and looks at the hole in the wall. He opens his mouth to say something, then closes it again realizing it's dumb to say anything right now. He sits down beside Nelly. "Nelly, where do you think she would go?"

Nelly looks at Sebastian curiously "Sebastian I can't say.  I mean other then Stacy's, there's no where she really would go. She doesn't know anyone else."

Suddenly I remember how Nelly told me that Madeline had once met a friend of her Dads named Robert in a coffee shop called The Laughing Goat in Boulder when she was sixteen.

I got up abruptly "Nelly, what about Robert?" Nelly looked at me confused "What about him Costello?" I asked "Is there any chance she'd go to him?" Nelly thought about it hard for about ten seconds "It's possible. It's up to you if you think it's worth the try. But I don't know where he lives, just that he works there."

I quickly mind linked Anthony to stay in charge of everything for a day. And I told Sebastian, and Amy to come with me to Boulder.

Nelly and my Mom tell us to be careful before we go. I drive fast, I'm in front of the coffee shop within an hour and twenty  minutes. I go in alone. I ask a random teenager who's wiping a table down if a Robert works here?

The teenager replies happily "Oh yeah he's in the back, he's the Manager, you want me to get him for you Sir?" I say "Yes." with a smile.

Robert comes out. I extend my hand to him casually "Hi I'm Costello Albertine." He shakes my hand with a casual smile, then says "I'm Robert. Why don't we sit down?"

He leads me to the table, we sit down. I'm about to say something when he smiles then says "I told her you'd come. She came to me two days ago, exhausted, a few rouges found her at the Hotel she was staying at, attacked her, trying to kidnap her, she was hurt pretty bad, too weak to heal herself, but she's strong, she knocked all four of them out, then wiped their memories."

I looked at him, an angry expression on my face. I knew this would happen to her. If she was with me on my grounds.I could've protected her. I could have kept her safe. That's it. When I find her, I'm not letting her out of my sight again.

Robert noticed my intense expression, put his hands up "Hey, stay cool, I'm on your side. I told her that she should call her Mom. And tell you guys to come get her. And stay with you at least till this Army of Rouges is dead. But she won't listen to me." I looked at Robert in understanding "Thank you, for letting her stay with you. Can you tell me the address?"

Robert got a pen out of his pocket and wrote the address on a napkin for me. He handed to me "Alpha Costello, just a warning, she's on hyper alert right now though, completely vicious, and she's got the house surrounded by a spell that tells her if someone's at the door. So be careful. Fairies know how to kill."

I nodded, then asked out of curiosity  "Robert, what Pack are you from?" Robert smiled in an odd way "None, I left my Pack when I was just a kid, I just didn't belong there, always dis liked it, so I built a life here once I could. Alpha Yearwood's family and my family were old friends, he stayed in contact with me. Until he disappeared."

I look at him slightly fascinated "Maddie's Father?" He nods happily "He was a great guy...I mean if he's still alive, he probably still is. Anyways, it was nice to see one of my own kind again. Maddie's at my house. The room after the washroom."

When I get back in the car, I tell Sebastian and Amy everything. Their expressions of extreme concern are evident. Amy calls Mom and tells her to put it on speaker, so everyone around her can hear. She tells Nelly the ugly news.

Nelly takes a breath in "Oh god, my stupid girl, but at least you guys are going to get her now and smart thinking of you Costello." I make a sharp left "Nelly it's gonna be okay." Amy says bye. We're in front of Roberts house within twenty minutes. I tell Sebastian to grab whatever bag or stuff Maddie has here, and I tell Amy to help me get her.

Her Mom quickly made us some sort of concoction right before we left, and put it in a container for us to open and throw on her, to disarm her. It makes a fairy lose their powers for a couple hours. That's more then enough time for us to get back and lock her in a room. I know it sounds severe, but what else am I supposed to do?

We all step out. Amy carefully folding the medium sized container. I turn the handle, the door is unlocked. I step inside first, then Amy and Sebastian. I walk to the room after the washroom. It's near the back. I tell Amy and Sebastian in a whisper to get behind me. I slam the door open to a furious Maddie standing in the corner of the room.

She looks at me, and my siblings un afraid "You have ten seconds to get out of this house, or I'll kill you all." I gaze at Maddie's beautiful face for a little too long. I can't help but feel responsible for the one gash on her arm that she still hasn't been able to heal. It's bandaged well but I can sense how raw it still is."

I link Amy that I'm gonna try to talk to her first, and if she does anything drastic, to throw the substance on her. I put my hands up "Maddie you need to come with me. You're rightful place is with me."

Maddie keeps her hands up. She scoffs "Yeah about that, I asked Robert everything about a Mate Bond and I don't feel any of that towards you. In fact ever since you've come into my life I've felt nothing but uneasy."

I keep my face neutral "Maddie you're a fairy, so you don't feel it as intensely, that's true, but to say that you don't feel anything, is a lie." Maddie looks at me dead in the eyes "I don't feel anything. All of you get out. You have five seconds."

When we don't move. Maddie uses her hands to make us fly back hard and fall. She's about to jump out the room window when I use my Werewolf speed to grab the container, run to her, open in it and throw it on her.

She falls hard to the ground, onto her left arm, the one with the gash on it. I see it starting to bleed again from underneath the bandaging. I go to Maddie quick. Before she passes out she has an expression of sadness on her face.

Sebastian grabs her back pack, Amy's goes to open the car door. I carry her out and place her in the back with Amy.

When we're ten minutes away from the gigantic gates that let you enter into my Pack, Amy says "You know Costco I really hope you don't have some sort of idea like once she wakes up, you guys are gonna be all lovey dovey, and everything's gonna be fine. Right now she doesn't just hate you, but she hates her Mom too. So she feels totally isolated. Think about this, she actually chose to be in danger and got hurt, instead of being with you."

I look at Amy through the rear view mirror. "I don't have that idea at all. I know how she feels." I look at Sebastian, then at Amy again. "What would you guys do in my exact situation?"

Sebastian looked outside "I think I'd try to be her friend before anything, I know you're really stressed out right now, but she just found out her whole life is a lie, she found out she has to leave her life behind because of you, and HER Mother is being supportive of you right now and not her. If you look at it in her perspective she's in a really messed up situation right now. So yeah, I mean I know you'll have to announce to the entire Pack that Maddie's our Luna soon, but till then just try talking to her."

Amy and me looked at each other in semi shock. Amy laughed "Whoa Sebastian the teenager, that's some advice right there." I patted Sebastian's arm lovingly "No seriously you're right." Sebastian smiled, happy that he could be helpful.

We were at my front door now. I picked up Madeline and brought her to the room that was set up for her. I asked my chef to bring dinner upstairs to this room for me and Madeline. It was sitting there with a cover on in for five minutes before Madeline started moving in her sleep.
