Alpha Costello's Fairy Luna

Chapter 13

Madeline's Perspective:

I open my eyes to lights on the wall that seem a little too bright. I snap my eyes shut again, and realize I have a headache. What did Costello throw on me? I can smell it on me. There's some mint in it, and some iris flower petals.

It made me lose my powers, and since I was at such a high when it was thrown on me, the shock made me fall down. I remember falling on the ground and feeling like my arm was on fire before I totally went unconscious.

After Fort Collins, I decided to go stay in Boulder, at a Hotel, it was my second day there, when as I was sleeping these four strange man came into my room,  demanding I come with them. When I resisted, they started attacking me in order to capture me. I heard one of them say "Yo if we don't get her, Monty's gonna kill us."

Hearing that triggered something vicious inside of me, and I ended up knocking all four of them out, before I left I did a terrible bandaging job on my arm and leg and put a dark long sleeved shirt so no one could see blood if it was dripping and I wiped their memories so they never could confirm to anyone I was here.

I didn't know where else to go so I went to Robert at The Laughing Goat. Robert gave me a big hug, then took me to the back and bandaged me up properly. After that he took me home. I told him literally everything. He explained to me that he had left his Pack when he was thirteen because he was searching for a different life.

He told me everything that happens in between Werewolves, and Werewolf Mates.

He also told me about his deep friendship with my Dad. They were family friends, and even after Robert left his Pack, my Dad still stayed in touch with him. Coming to visit him in the city. Even though most Werewolves don't keep in touch with Werewolves who aren't in a Pack.

He told me Costello would find me, and wether I liked it or not, I would be forced to live a life as Costello's Mate. I told Robert I could out run him, and the rogues that were after me.

Robert laughed saying "Kid, in life, we don't really ever out run anything. You can make peace with something, you can keep fighting with something, you can accept something, but you can't out run it."

I told him "Well I'm gonna try." And look where that trying got me? I'm laying on a bed, somewhere un-known dying of a headache. I'm about to sit up in bed when I hear a voice I've never heard before say "Are you awake?" I sit up in bed, and adjust myself. I look at the absolutely gorgeous girl sitting on the sofa seat opposite to the bed.

I suddenly remember she was standing behind Costello at Robert's house. I look at her curiously "Where am i?" She raises her eyebrows "You Madeline, are deep in the Woods." I ask "Yeah but where?" She answers "You're in one of the rooms of Costco's house."

I raise my brow and ask "Costco?" She laughs "Oh yeah, shit, that's what I call Costello." I can't help but smile at her ugly name for Costello. She looks at me and laughs "See you think it's funny too, don't you?" I answer "It is funny."

She stands up and goes to the dressing cabinet. She opens one of the drawers and pulls out two Tyenol tablets, and gets a glass of water that's sitting on top of the cabinet. She hands the glass and tablets to me. I take them quickly, finishing half the glass of water.

I put the glass on the bedside table ."So is Costello happy now? He must feel like he's won." The girl has a Neutral expression on her pretty face "Costello is happy you're with him, and that you're safe. But at the same time he's frustrated because you're not happy."

I look at the girl "Why doesn't he let me go then? Because that's what would make me happy." The girl frowned "You'll get hurt like you already did, and because you're his Mate, you're literally a part of him."

I decided to change the subject because I don't know how to respond to what she said. "What's your name?" The girl smiled "Amy and our younger brother is Sebastian." I nod, then say "My Mom's here right?" Amy nods "Do you wanna see her?" I answer "No."

Then I look at her pleadingly "Amy can you help me escape?" Amy raises her eyebrows "So Costello can banish me from the Pack? no way man. I'm sorry, but your Mate would have my head if I did that."

I frown. Amy looks at me with a smile. "You can still go see friends, and do things you like doing, but you have to come back. I look at Amy frustratedly "No offence, but I don't wanna be with your brother." She laughs "None taken, he's pretty annoying, but you might start feeling different about the matter."

Then she gets up "Madeline, Costello's gonna come in now. I'll see you later." I take a deep breath and feel really vulnerable all the sudden. Costello comes in with an expression on his face I can't read.

I look at him with a deep furious stare. He ignores me "I got my Chef to bring our dinner upstairs." He walks to a table that has food in two plates, he lifts the cover to one plate. "Are you hungry?" I look at Costello like he's stupid. I'm literally being held against my will, and he's asking me if I'm hungry in such a casual manner.

He asks me "What? Why are you looking at me like that?" I answer with venom laced in my words "You literally used a temporary power killing potion to kidnap me and now you're asking me if I'm down to have some dinner with you."

He sighs deeply, then aggressively puts the cover back on the plate. He sits down on the same chair Amy was sitting at and looks at me frustrated. I look at him fiercely.

His voice radiates nothing but anger "You know Madeline I've been really tolerant of your behaviour but you're literally pinching my last nerve. It's not like I personally went and selected you out of a fucking line up as my Mate. You know, I know A LOT of Alphas who would just bring there Mate here, mark her, and do whatever they wanted. But I'm actually giving you time to adjust. Also less then a week ago you were literally telling me to kiss you, so don't even start that bullshit about not feeling the Mate bond."

I feel like I'm about to explode. If I had my powers back I would throw Costello against the wall. He looks at me knowingly that I can't do anything. I look at him, conveying with my expression that if I had my powers right now, it'd be over for him.

I can't say anything about the last thing he says because he's right. At that moment I did feel something more then just basic infatuation with a person. It felt deeper then that.

But I still can say something about the other things "If you dare to bring your teeth even by my neck, I will kill you." Then I laugh "And tolerant? Yes Costello you've been so tolerant of my dancing with my old school friend, who may I tell you is happily married with a baby. And for your information I didn't choose you either, but I have the common maturity to realize that our two lives can't combine, so at that point I'm leaving you alone. But you're not leaving me alone because you're petty."

Costello looks at me with deep fury in his golden eyes but I hold no fear towards him. "I could mark you right now. You're powerless."

I look at him with a wrathful grin "Then I'll kill you later. Your choice." His eyes keeping switching from blue to golden, over and over again, finally he gets up after a minute of staring at me and says "Eat something." Before he walks out.

I decide not to eat anything. I feel so exhausted. I get back into bed, and fall asleep within minutes.
