wouldn't it be nice
if we could
listen to each other's
minds?switch frequency
to a sound never heard
aloud.i want to know
the 'inside' voices,hear the thoughts
that travel in and out- everyone's own
personal underground.how many trains of thought
depart the stations?do our stops meet up
in a few places?do the sentences jam pack
those carriages,or are they filled with
lonely passengers?single words without destination
looping single stations.
if i could dial
into random channels, would i know the difference
between static
and deafening voids?for there are people
with no thoughts leftand i don't know
if i could help them.if we are switching between
inner audios, how could we know what
notions are meant to be tuned in?we know all too well
that inner voices
are often fiends,attacking listeners, passersby.
and some might be
silent ponderings
opting for secrecy.it would not be nice
hitchhiking rides
into other people's mindsall this frequency hopping
and added knowledge.i can just about imagine the headaches.
i guess it is better
without our extra noise.
