Saturday, 18th May.

Mason Carter's grand 25th birthday, also known as the talk of the town.

The Carter's were a prominent and respected name in the industry, and with Mason being an international model as well, naturally all attention was directed to the grand celebration that was about to be held in one of the most luxurious hotels in NYC.

Everyone was excited to know who was invited and who would show up.

Normally I would've been home but since we had an important meeting with an international client that mom couldn't attend as she was in Paris, I had to be there.

As the time was ticking, I was getting more and more anxious. I looked at the clock and it was already 5:30. The party started at 8 and I didn't want to be late. Knowing Mason, he'd throw a tantrum again about how his best friend was late to this birthday party just like he did on his 8th one. Chuckling at the fond memory I tried concentrating on the presentation.

Finally, the meeting ended at around 7:00. I grabbed my purse and keys and rushed to get home. I had an hour to get ready and reach the venue.

I had a hard time deciding on a gift for Mason. Like what do you even gift someone that has practically everything? That too for your 'so-called best friend' that you haven't been in touch with for 5 years.

It was good though that I was actually paying attention to the conversation at the restaurant the other day. Because I heard Gemma say how Mason was really into photography these days.

Arranging the gift was another hassle as the certain thing I wanted was not available for another month but I pulled some strings and somehow made it possible.

Now the gift was another thing I had to pick up along the way but since it was near the venue I didn't worry as much.

Reaching home, I went to my room quickly and took a shower. I came out wearing my bathrobe and made my way to my walk-in closet. I went to the dress’s side and started rummaging through my options.

I had to admit I had a lot of options but it was still difficult to choose a dress perfect for the occasion. Originally, I wanted to opt for a black dress but since Gemma was wearing black now, I wanted to stand out in something other than black. My search continued but till now everything I came across was either too dressy, casual, or overly formal and if it wasn’t that; then the color wasn’t suitable for a nighttime event.

Finally, my eyes landed on a dress I really liked and so I quickly put it out and went to my vanity to start on my hair and makeup.
