Chapter: 5

Jungkook

It's been a while since I last visited NYC. But everything pretty much seems the same.

The mayhem, the traffic, the hive of activities, never fails to remind me how trivial human matters are, and despite all the setbacks and disappointments, life goes on.

Due to our busy schedules, we never really have much time to ourselves but if ever I get the chance, I'd like to explore the city. And like really explore it. I want to get lost in the crowd, and enjoy the flashy broadway performances. I want to shop till I drop in all the exclusive stores and just live life.

I'm glad we are able to attend Mason's birthday though. We met him backstage during one of the events we were attending, and then twice at some mutual friends party in London. He seemed like a decent guy and now as soon as he knew we were in town, he insisted us till we agreed to attend his party.

Maybe this won't be such a bad thing after all and maybe I can actually have a good time and forget my worries for the night.

All seven of us are currently seated in the limousine provided by the agency. It was a high profile event after all and so the entry had to be in style.

I am seated between Jin Hyung, who was constantly slapping my thighs and Jimin Hyung. Namjoon Hyung is seated opposite me reading news on his phone, next to him is Hoseok lightly sipping on his champagne with Tae Hyung beside him. Suga Hyung is the one farthest from the door with his eyes closed, probably taking a nap.

Twenty minutes later a voice through the intercom informs us that we're about to reach our destination in 2 minutes. Everybody straightens up either fixing their suit jackets or taking a final look in the mirror before proceeding to keep a poker face on.

Everybody except Jin Hyung.

" I don't need to look in the mirror. I'm world wide handsome you know" he shrugs as I slightly shake my head. Not this again.

Upon reaching our car door is opened and Jin Hyung is the first one to step out followed by Tae and Hoseok Hyung. Just as I am about to get off, my arm is held back and I look up to see Namjoon Hyung with a serious expression.

" Jungkook this is a public event. Please be on your best behavior, we don't need any more trouble than there already is."

" Oh come on Hyung, when am I not?" I feigned innocence and tugged my hand out of his grasp.

" Also you need to chill a little" with that I quickly scurried out of the car before he could get a hold of me. That wouldn't end very well now.

We posed for a few pictures and then made our way inside where we were greeted by Mason and his girlfriend.

" You sure don't hold back on the splendor eh" I smirked slightly before giving him a bro hug and wishing him.

" Ohhhhh Mason my broo, Happy Birthdayyy!" A loud voice boomed in the room and I didn't even have to look to know who it was. Jin Hyung.

We all scattered after Mason asked us to enjoy ourselves.

I was at my third smoked salmon crisp reaching for the fourth when I felt a presence beside me.
I looked up to see a girl wearing a skimpy wine dress and immediately my eyes trailed down her body, from her low cut dress to the high slit exposing her long legs. She was hot.

"Melissa" she extended her hand which I took and kissed making her giggle.

I didn't bother introducing myself. I didn't need to. I had been around way too many girls like her to know what her suggestive smile meant.

From the corner of my eye I could feel someone glaring at me. And surprise surprise it was Namjoon Hyung. He had a disapproving look on his face. Sometimes I wonder if he was placed for the sole purpose of keeping a check on me.

Didn't he have like other 'lejindary' leader matters to attend to.

Before he could spoil the mood or say something I turned my back to him leading the girl-what was her name again? Manila? Velma?whatever- out.

My eyes landed on Jimin Hyung who was surrounded by two girls at the bar. I rolled my eyes.
And they tell me to behave?

Third Person POV

I was roaming around the ball room, bored out of my mind. I barely knew anybody here and to make things worst all of my friends had also split up.

My eyes scanned the room landing on a girl in a deep maroon dress and they stayed there.

It wasn't as if I hadn't seen beautiful girls before, but something about her just made me halt. I was suddenly drawn to her, curious to know her.

She gave a hesitant look to her friend and Jimin? before sighing and walking out the door.

I scanned the room for a certain maknae and mentally smacked myself for letting him out of sight. He wasn't here, meaning he was up to no good. No wonder what he'll do this time.

Grabbing a glass of orange juice from a server, I made my way out towards the patio. It outlooked the entire garden and the luxurious swimming pool.

I heaved a sigh of relief at the fresh air but soon shuddered due to the cool breeze. It looked like it would rain anytime.

Whilst sipping the juice my eyes landed on two figures. The girl in the maroon dress and Jung kook. I couldn't see her face as her back was facing me but judging from Jungkooks expression, they seemed to be in a heated argument.

Before I knew it Jung kook advanced forward, snatched the camera out of her hand and threw it across the ground.

My mouth opened and closed in shock. How could he do this?

I wanted to go and interfere but somehow my feet were rooted in place. So I looked on, looked as she pushed him back, he deserved it! and when a shocked expression came across his face and when he finally dashed out of there.

I stood there watching till the heavy rain poured and one of my guards quickly covered me with the umbrella.
