I woke up, a normal day. 7am I was awake. I am 21, with a 1 year old. I work a full time job at a bar n grill. Anyways, I woke up got myself and my son ready, getting us fed. It was 9am when I set my lil boy Down to eat. We lived with my grandma and grandpa. And I wasn't allowed to go out all the time. Luckily they watched my son while I worked. I am a single mom, and have no help other than them watching him. I brushed my teeth, and headed down to my aunt's who was driving me to work for the time being. Got to work at 9:50am. Im a carry out girl today. But will help the servers and the convince store people if they need it. Anyways I clocked in and got the salad bar and drink bar set up. Made all the dressings I needed before I got asked to watch the convince store window. It was only 10:05, I watched the window and the girl that worked the store side came back at 10:15 so I had plenty time to smoke a cig, I grabbed the phone Incase someone calls in a order, and stepped outside with the other servers , we opened at 11, so we definitely had time. We sat down and carried on, we had a few people in cars waiting to eat, and around 10:55 they started coming into the restaurant. We did our thang, and around 1pm I got told to do the store and carry outs, great two jobs in one. But should be easy. I was putting in orders and running around helping servers, and watching the store when one of the girls stopped me, she said some young man had his eyes on me and asked about me. Telling me that he was a cutie and she would tell him it would be less busy the next day. So I thanked her, and Continued to do my thing. At 3:30pm I handed the phone to the other girl who was now here for carry out and counted my drawer down and then just stayed at the store. The server who told me about the young man came to me and gave me a piece of paper, it said 'Matthew 573-210-3212 xo" great. My ex. Ugh, I looked at it and rolled my eyes slamming it onto the counter
"Girl he was cute, curly hair"
"Yeah well my ex from Springfield has curly hair and is Matthew. Guess he couldn't get enough" I scoffed and heard a contagious laugh. I looked up to someone with a beautiful smile, amazing hair and eyes.
"That's your ex kady?"
"Oh. My. God. I thought, oops, misunderstood this" I pointed to the paper and he chuckled as the other server left
"Didn't mean to make you act out like that"
"I-i thought y-you were someone else"
I stumbled over my words.
"Nope, not your ex from Springfield, and from the sounds of it I don't wanna be."
Someone pulled up to the window so I excused myself and who I seen shocked me
"Girl you better just drive off, or imma come out this window. Some best friend you are. You literally fucked mat. Like wtf."
"Kady I'm sorry listen I got gravy tickets, I know you don't listen to him but please"
"No. I will kill you on the way there, or before go away."
I closed the window and locked it, laughing
"Oh what a day, oh what a day"
I forgot the guy was standing there, and my regular walked in
"Hey babe, what wrong?"
"Well, I started a normal day then had to do two jobs at one time, then come over here and girl guess who showed up"
"Yeah, I saw her"
"Whore."
"Yep, two guys she's done that to, or more."
"She said 'kady I got gravy tickets, come with me'"
"Who's that?"
"Dunno really, but I told her I'd kill her" we laughed and she pointed to the man
"Oh, lord, I'm sorry I forgot you were here. Mom brain here" me and the regular laughed and she left. I had down time.
"Mom brain?"
"Yeah, 21, with a 1 year old. I turn 22 in December and he turns 2 a week after I turn 22"
"Ah, well, I also have gravy tickets if you'd wanna go'
"I might, i-i don't get out much but, I wasn't gonna go with her. She's the one who was in Springfield with stupid ex."
"Ah, you were in love weren't you?"
"Yeah. Was. My "friend?"... Told me to block them"
"Ooo friend, am I too late"
I laughed
"Oh he just told his mama about me and I told him we are not a thing. He's clingy but I don't like him like that." It was now 4
"Kady go home" the newer server said
"I'll be back through this way, I have to wait a hour for my ride."
"Okay, kady" he winked and I clocked out grabbed my paycheck and purse before heading out through the store. Putting his name and number in my apron
"Imma just sit here" I pointed then caught a glimpse of a Tesla, with butterfly doors and I gasped
"What?"
"Oh, that's beautiful"
He smirked and laughed
"Wanna get a closer look?"
I just nodded and he pulled a key fob out, opening the doors
"Text your family tell them you have a ride home."
"A-are you serious?!"
He smiled
"Yep, get in, buckle up."
I did as he said and he followed after.
"You ever listened to gravy?"
"I think one song" I laughed a bit. He smiled pulling out, turning on the radio
