Bakugo raced through the seemingly endless crowd of villains. It was an unexpected attack planned by some unknown group. At least it was unknown at the moment. Bakugo didn't really give a fuck who they were; at least not now. No. Right now his main focus was getting to the dumbass who was fighting dozens of these fuckers on his own. Yeah, sure, as much as Bakugo hates to admit it, he's strong as fuck now. He's got a damn good hold on his quirk. He's not fucking invincible though.

The damn nerd obviously didn't seem to hold the same opinion if his current fight was anything to go off of.

Catapulting himself through the air at top speeds, he aims a blast at one of the idiots who seemed dead set on taking Deku down. Fine for him. If these asshats want to have tunnel vision for the nerd it makes it all the more simple for Bakugo to take them out while they're distracted.

The explosions obviously caught the attention of Deku, who glanced over at him for a brief moment. He flashed a cheery grin but after a close encounter with a knife zipping past his head he focused his attention back to the ambush on himself.

"Nerd! They after you or something?! Why the fuck are there so many?!" Bakugo yelled, trying to barrel through the dozens of villains that began to circle in on Deku like sharks in the water. It seemed like they were multiplying.

"No idea, but I doubt this is a kidnapping attempt! They seem to be more focused on just killing me!"

Bakugo scoffed while setting off another blast. "I can fucking see that, shithead!"

"Is everyone else alright?!" Deku yelled as he flipped through the air, launching one of the villains out of sight and grabbing another two with blackwhip.

"No fucking clue, it looked like Aizawa and the class had things under control last I checked!"

"This is bad... Why is it always our class?!" Deku shrieked, once again only nearly dodging a hit from one of the villains.

Bakugo couldn't help but snort at that despite their dire situation.

"We just gotta hold out for back up, nerd! Think you can keep up with me?!"

"You bet, Kacchan!" Deku grinned.

The fight felt endless. What was only around 20 minutes felt like hours. Every time one villain was out three more would join in. Neither of the students having a chance to catch their breath.

Deku could barely even blink without almost getting hit by a weapon or quirk. Bakugo wasnt even their focus and he was beginning to struggle.

The worry began to set in that back up was not coming any time soon and they might need to somehow find an out on their own. That alone set off even more worries. It was getting hard to think up any plans with the constant dodging and maneuvering the both of them were doing.

The situation was looking bleak, to put it bluntly.

"Kacchan..."

"Deku! shut the hell up!"

"Kacchan, listen!"

"No! I already know what dumbass words are going to come out of your mouth! If I leave you then you're fucked. You're barely keeping up with my help!"

"We don't have a whole lot of other options! Somebody needs to run for help and it's obvious who has a better chance of making it! They're after me!"

"Just hold on! I'll fucking think of something!"

"There isn't anything else! These people know what they're doing! They led us farther out from the main attack and it's likely that our classmates and teachers haven't come to help us because they don't know where we are!"

Bakugo cursed under his breath and risked a glance back to where the class should have been. Deku was right. They'd been so occupied by the fight that he didn't even notice that the villains had cut them off from everyone else.

"KACCHAN! YOU NEED TO LEAVE!"

"FUCK NO."

"THIS ISN'T THE TIME TO BE STUBBORN."

One of the villains laughed. "That's right Goldie locks, I think it's about time you left."

Bakugo rolled his eyes at the cheesy nickname and fired a (well deserved if he says so) blast directly into that villains face.

Of course he should have questioned why it was now that the villains chose to speak out when they hadn't said a word this entire time. He got the answer to the unasked question almost immediately after the blast.

Deku screamed.

Bakugo whipped around fast enough to see a brief glimpse of the light that had hit Deku and jumped towards his rival at speeds that could probably rival Iida. Deku fell towards the ground lifeless.

Bakugo felt the weight of his body crash into his chest and tumbled safely to the ground with his now unconscious rival tucked safely in his arms.

He wasted no time in shooting off in the direction of help. He had no other choice now. He sure as hell wasn't going to attempt to fight with Deku weighing him down. He didn't even have time to check his vitals.

Oh well. The idiot better still be breathing. He did his best to quell the rising nausea that pooled in his gut at the thought that he was carrying the empty corpse of his childhood bestfriend. No, his rival dammit.

It seemed that despite the villains getting a hit on Deku that they were in no way slowing down. In fact, it seemed that the target was now him.

Bakugo grimaced as a hit brushed past him. He could hear the noise of his classmates up ahead. It sounded like they were searching for them. Just a little bit longer...

Bakugo let out a yell, feeling something sharp hit his calf. He stumbled and crash landed to the soft dirt underneath him. He shielded Dekus head and held it steady as the two of them rolled to a stop.

He cursed and looked down to see the damage. A knife was halfway buried in his leg. That was going to hurt like a bitch when it was removed.

He didnt have time to ponder it as the villains he'd been running from began to surround them.

"You know, our main goal was just to knock the green brat out of the way... but you're a real pain in the ass too, kid. I think it would be to our benefit if we didn't have to worry about either of you."

There was a sharp tug on his hair forcing bakugos head up. He spit at the villain closest to his face. Begging for mercy wasn't really his style, no matter how dire things were.

She grimaced and wiped the spit off of her shirt. "Nasty kid. I don't know how people like you are supposed to be the next generation of heros. Can't even mind your manners."

He was suddenly hit by a bright light, the same color as the one he saw hit Deku. He felt his head begin to burn. He let out a loud scream of agony as his head was dropped.

Right before his eyes rolled into the back of his head he could distantly see some of his teachers racing towards them. He distantly registered that he tightened his grip on the boy in his arms.

And before he could process that help had arrived... he was out cold.
