Part 3

Tobins pov
Wow did I really mess up this time. When Shirley kissed me it surprised me. I thought maybe this could be a good thing. I thought maybe if I'm with someone else I'll get over my crush on Christen. I thought this would all work out, but I guess I was wrong. I might have just lost my bestfriend. She didn't come to practice. After practice I went straight home. I hear a knock at my door breaking me out of my thoughts. "Hey Toby"
"Hey mom"
"Everything okay honey"
"Not really" she was now sitting next to me on my bed.
"You want to talk about it"
"So I have a girlfriend"
"Really who" she sounded excited.
"Shirley Cruz"
"Oh"
"Christen isn't very happy with me"
"Why's that"
"Because I didn't tell her that I like Shirley and to be honest I didn't even know I liked Shirley."
"Ah well maybe Chris is just scared"
"What do you mean"
"Come on Toby you can't tell my you haven't seen how much Shirley doesn't like her and now she's your girlfriend so maybe Chris is scared that Shirley is going to take you away"
"But that would never happen"
"You never know Toby it happens all the time"
"God I really screwed up"
"Just give her some space she'll come around she loves you she can't stay mad for that long"
"I hope so because I don't know what I would do with out her"
About two months later Tobin and Shirley are still together.
Christens pov
I'm currently packing my bags for youth national camp. I haven't really talk to Tobin much in the past two months she been busy with Shirley. I've really missed her. At least Shirley won't be at the camp. I get everything packed. "Chris are you ready to go" my mom yelled from downstairs.
    "Yep I'm coming" I walk downstairs she's waiting for me. I hug my sisters then my dad. My mom and I head to the airport. We pull up at the same time as Tobin and Cindy.
  "Hey Christen" she said coming to hug me.
   "Hey Cindy"
   "I've missed having you around" she whispered to me. "She just not as happy" when she pulled away she just smiled and then walked back over to Tobin.
   "Goodbye Toby call me when you get there okay"
   "Okay mom I love you"
    "I love you too Toby" she left us.
    "I guess it's time for me to go too" my mom said pulling me into a hug. "Bye Chris I love you call me when you land"
    "I love you too mom"
    "Bye Tobin"
    "Bye Stacy" my mom leaves. Tobin and I make our way to our gate. Kelley and Allie are already there. Allie smiles when she see us together. Kelley just looks confused. I sat next to Kelley who was next to Allie. Tobin sat on the other side of Allie. I watched as Allies smile fades.
    "So you guys just walked in together" Kelley whispered to me.
    "It was only because our moms pulled up at the same time."
    "Ah I see"
    "Okay so Cindy said something to me that I can't get out of my head"
   "And that is"
   "She said she misses having me around and that she just isn't happy with out you around"
   "What's that supposed to mean"
   "I'm guessing that Tobins been in a funk"
   "Yes she has you know how we all do random game nights the ones you stopped coming too"
   "Yeah"
   "I've noticed she's is constantly looking at the door when everyone is arriving and she's always the first one which is not like her. Then when she realizes your not coming she kinda is just quite and only makes small talk"
   "Oh"
   "Chris she really misses you"
   "I miss her too but I just can't be around her"
   "Why not"
    "Because it hurts to see her with someone else"
   "Well it makes you feel any better she obviously not happy with Shirley"
   "That doesn't make me feel better because that's what I want is for her to be happy even if it's not with me"
   "I know you love her Chris and it's hard but she needs you she just not her without you. You guys complete each other and let's be honest you haven't been your self either" our flight gets called and I stand up. "You can't avoid it forever Christen"
    "I know" I look over to see Tobin looking at me I just give her a soft smile and go to boarding. Unfortunately Tobin and I are right next to each other.  I end up falling asleep half way through the flight. I wake up to something heavy on my head and I realize it Tobin. She fell asleep right on me. I tapped her leg lightly. She picked her head up and stretched. "Uh were here" I said awkwardly. She just looked at me with that face. That face that says I'm sorry. I just got up and made my way off the plane.
    We meet with the rest of the team at the hotel. I stand by Kelley. Tobin finds Allie and Alex. Then I get a text from Allie. It's a photo of me and Tobin sleeping.
A: you guys look so at peace.
    I couldn't help but smile a little. God do I miss Tobin. Coach walked in and handed out our room keys. Of course I get stuck with Tobin. I make my way up to our room. I took the stairs so I could process what was about to happen. I walked into the room and Tobin was just standing there staring at the bed. Yeah that's right singular. There is only one bed. This day just keeps getting better and better. "I already called coach to ask if it was a mistake but they only had single rooms left so I guess we are just stuck"
    "I guess so" she looked at me. I think she was trying to read me. "I'm going to take a shower before dinner so I can wash all the airplane filth off"
    "Yeah go ahead" I walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower. I cried most of the time. When I finished I realized I forgot my clothes. I walked out of the bathroom and grabbed my bag. Tobin was staring at me most of the time. Until she realized she was caught then she just looked down at her feet and her face turned red. I walked back into the bathroom and got dressed.
    "You ready to go to dinner" I asked.
    "Yep" she jumped up from her spot and followed me.
