Unexpected

Part 11

Tobins pov
    It's the first morning I haven't woken up to Christen right next to me. I get up and get ready for the day. As I'm walking down the stairs I hear my parents talking. "I don't know if we should tell her yet" I walked into the kitchen where they were and they instantly stopped talking.
    "Tell me what" my mom looked at me and all I could see was sadness.
   "Sit down honey"
   "Just tell me"
   "Stacy is in the icu honey they don't know if she is going to make it or not"
   "What do you mean what happened"
   "We don't know exactly but she had some kind of stroke"
    "What hospital I need to see Christen"
     "St. Ann" I didn't say another word I grabbed my keys and speed to the hospital. I ran inside to the front desk.
"Name"
"I'm here for Stacy press"
"Are you family"
"Her daughter is my partner"
"I can't let you see her unless your family"
"I am family I've know them for ever her daughter is my girlfriend for god sake"
"What's going on here"
"Oh thank god Cody is Christen here"
"Yes I'll take you too her"
"Sir she can't go back unless she's family"
"She is family" he said firmly. He lead me to Stacy's room, where I saw Christen sleeping a chair by her side. I walked over to her Knelt down and rubbed her arm softly. Her eyes fluttered open.
"Tobin" she said rubbing her eyes. I pulled her into me.
"I'm here baby" she cried into my shoulder. I felt a hand on my other one and looked up.
"Why don't you take her home so she can get some sleep" I nodded my head and helped Chris to her feet. I took her back to her house. I helped her take her shoes off and get into the bed.
"What do you need Chris name it and I'll get it for you"
"I just want you to hold me" I climbed into bed with her and she cuddled right into me. She just cried her self to sleep as I rubbed her back.
A few days later.
Christen pov
I woke up with Tobins protective arms wrapped around me. I tried to slip out with out her waking but failed. "What I'm up is everything okay"
"Yeah I just need to use the bathroom"
"Okay I'm going to check on your sisters and make some food" we both went different directions. Tobin is so sweet she hasn't left my side since she found out about my mother. I was supposed to go see her today. I went into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror I was a mess. I had mascara running down my face and my hair was in knots. I decided I should probably take a quick shower. Once I finish I went down stairs where I found Tobin cooking. I walked over and wrapped my hands around her waist. "You showered?"
    "Yeah I felt gross"
    "Well I hope your hungry" she said dishing me up some of the Mac and cheese she made. Then making her self a bowl. We sat and ate in silence. I like theses moments of just being in her company. I don't know what I would do with out her. "So are you ready to go see your mom"
     "Yeah we can leave when your ready"
     "I just have to change real quick" she got up and gave me a kiss on the forehead before walking up stairs to change.
     At the hospital I sat with my mom while Tobin was off with my dad at the cafeteria. She wasn't awake she just laid there. I held her hand tight and laid my head on her bed. All of a sudden the Machine started going off and nurses started rushing in. They pushed me out of the room. It felt like the world just stopped. My heart felt like it fell out of its chest. Tears were freely falling now. I felt a hand grab mine. I was pulled into a hug I knew exactly who it was my arms instantly wrapped around her waist. She kissed the top of my head while trying to calm me down. The doctor finally came out of the room. He looked down at his feet then to my dad. I turned around so I could see better. "I'm so sorry we did everything we could but we weren't able to save her." My legs suddenly felt like jelly and all I could feel was Tobin trying to hold me up. The tears fell faster she was now holding me tight, crying herself.
     I don't even remember leaving the hospital. All I remember was waking up in my bed with Tobin by my side. I was dreading for tomorrow to come. Tomorrow was my mother's funeral. I got out of bed successfully with out waking up. I checked my phone it was currently 1am and I had a hundred messages. I made my was down the stairs to the kitchen where I found my dad sitting drinking a cup of tea. "Hey" I said lazily. He gave me a soft smile. I walked over and poured my self a cup.
     "Did you get any sleep honey"
     "Yeah I did have you gotten any"
     "None I can't sleep I was hoping some tea would have helped"
     "Yeah me too" we sat in silence for a little before her broke it.
    "Well I'm going to try and get some sleep we have a long day ahead of us I love you honey"
    "I love you too dad" he gave me a hug and kissed my head before heading upstairs. I sat down there for a little bit till I heard foot steps. It was Tobin looking very sleepy. She rubbed her eyes and made her way over to me. She rapped her arms around my waist and rested her head on my shoulder. "Let's go back to bed Toby" I said grabbing her hand and leading her back to my room. We laid there in each other's arms. I know she was hurting too. She was close with my mom. We all use to go out together before Tobin learned how to drive. I kissed her head a couple times. She looked at me and lightly smiled.
    "I love you so much Chris"
    "I love you too Toby" she leaned in and placed a soft kiss on my lips. When we parted we looked into each other's eyes. "How are you feeling"
    "I'm okay Chris" she said with a small smile. "How are you love"
    "I'm okay for right now" she tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. "I'm better when I'm with you"
    "You sweet Chris" she kissed me again. "Let's get some sleep we have a long day" she pulled me in closer and we drifted off to sleep. I feel so at peace when I'm in her arms.
