Unexpected

Part 9

Tobins pov from when they woke up at the hotel.
     I get woken up with a soft kiss on my forehead and Christen saying "tobin we gotta get up." We got ready and I checked my phone there was a message from my parents.
Mom: we know about you and Shirley breaking up I can't believe you do that to such a sweet girl"
T: who told you about me and Shirley"
Dad: Perry told us why'd you keep it from us"
T: I wasn't keeping it from you I just thought it was a weird conversation for the phone"
Mom: we also know about your new girlfriend"
Dad: so Tobin who's the new girl"
T: I was going to tell you when I got back I thought it would be better that way can we just wait till I'm home to have this conversation"
Mom: whatever Tobin we are disappointed you let such a good girl get away"
T: she wasn't a good girl mom"
Dad: don't talk back we will discuss this at home"
This whole conversation ruined my mood completely and I could feel my self starting to shut down. Chris kept trying to include me in Harry's and hers conversation, but I wasn't really in the mood.
When we got through security and everything she brought me coffee but that didn't even do anything for me. I slept the whole plan ride trying not to cry. When we finally got to our moms I could see how mad my mom was. I didn't hug Christen and I felt really bad about it. I'm hurting her and I can see it. I looked her in the eyes and whispered "I love you Chris" and walked to my mother. She didn't say a word to me just walked with me to the car.
   The whole ride home was silent. When I got home my dad was there waiting for us in the living room. "Sit" is all he said. I sat down in the chair and my mom sat next to him. "So who is the new girlfriend"
    "First let's talk about Shirley don't you wanna know why I broke up with her"
    "Fine tell us"
    "Okay so one night I was on FaceTime with Shirley arguing just like every time she called me. She kept accusing me of stuff I never did. Then she accused me of being in love with my bestfriend Christen. Which I told her I was with her and not Chris. Allie came in the room to get me for team bonding. By the way I was sharing a room with Christen. So Shirley freaked out when she heard Allie's voice I told her I had to go and we hung up. I told Allie about what Shirley said and Allie was like well she's not wrong but at the time I thought I loved her and she didn't love me that's why I gave it a shot with Shirley. But when I finally thought about it and talked to Allie I realized that I don't love Christen and I should probably take my shot while I still can. I wasn't happy with Shirley and I always thought something was missing and now I know that Chris was what was missing from my life she was the finally puzzle piece I need to complete the puzzle. So that night I broke up with Shirley. The next day Allie and I came up with a plan to win Christen over. So Allie told Christen to meet her on the roof after dinner. There was a path of rose petals and some of Christens favorite music playing. I was nervous wreck if I'm being honest when she finally got to me. Everything just seemed to flow I told her how I felt and she told me she felt the same way the next day I asked her to be my girlfriend and she said yes" I saw a tear in my moms eye.
     "I'm just gonna say because I know your mom won't but finally"
    "So you guys aren't mad"
    "I mean a little you didn't tell us we found out from your sister but I don't know about your dad but I'm happy that you two finally found your way to each other"
    "Exactly what your mom said honestly Toby we support this relationship so you try not to mess it up" that made me think I was kinda a jerk to Chris she's probably worried about me.
    "I might have already done that I was so upset with thinking you were mad at me that I shut down"
    "Well Toby go get your girl apologize."
Christen pov where the last chapter left off
    "Chris I know of course you do your bestfriends"
    "No mom I mean as more then a friend"
    "Wait really"
    "Yes mom"
    "Oh my god that's great honey are you together?"
    "Actually we are though I don't know something is going on with her I hope that nothing is going to change now that we are home but she was acting weird"
     "Yeah I noticed that and Cindy didn't look happy"
    "I'm just worried maybe it's nothing"
    "True it could be nothing" we make it home and I tell my dad he was super excited because he loves Tobin. After that I go to bed because I'm super tired. Though I don't know how I slept when my mind was running a mile a minute all because I was so worried about Tobin. I get woken up to a kiss on my forehead. When I open my eyes a big smile formed on my face.
     "Hey beautiful"
    "Tobin I was so worried about you you were acting so weird. I thought that it was maybe because we are home and the magic died"
    "Christen the magic didn't die I just had a fight with my parents about Shirley"
    "Oh well is everything okay" she flashed me a big smile.
    "Everything it great now that I told them all about us"
    "Really so they aren't mad"
    "Nope so did you tell your parents"
    "Yep my dad was super happy"
    "Really"
    "Yep"
    "How does your mom feel"
    "She's happy"
    "Good now can I join you" she climbed in the bed next to me. She texted her parents first. My mom soon walked in.
    "Is Tobin spending the night because it's getting late"
    "Yes I am"
    "Okay honey" she was about to close the door but before she said "goodnight girls"
    "Goodnight mom"
    "Goodnight Stacy" Tobin and I both went back to sleep. I'm gonna miss this but I'm glad we get one more nights of this.
