Getting into the lab was no easy feat, or at least it shouldn't have been. As someone who had to visit the lab frequently enough for check-ups and the like, MK and Lucy both knew their way around both security and the building itself. Then again, security didn't really cap them anymore, not when any and all visits from the fusion were cleared. There could be an emergency after all, and honestly, MK would argue that it was. But he didn't want to explain himself to anyone, not when he knew that everyone would side with Lucy on this issue and simply say no.
Using his clearance card, the monster swiped his way inside, heading down the elevator and into the True Lab. It looked dim like usual, but the place was much cleaner now that it was being used by more than the amalgamates. That and knowing the amalgamates proved to be rather nice. Soon enough, they'd made their way down the halls and into what they came to know as the new lab and doctor's office. And, right under a covered table, were the six human souls.
"Yo! Found them!"
'We kind of already knew where they were.'
"I know, but we can see em now!" MK said, eyes eventually falling upon the newer red soul. "Not that one."
'Definitely not that one.'
"So that leaves the other five. Uh... Yo, which one would you pick?"
The question quickly caught Lucy off guard, the girl falling silent as she realized the burden of choice had been shouldered to her. 'What?'
"You know! Which one would you pick?" MK asked, looking over their five choices curiously. "I got lucky when I got you, but I don't wanna take that chance with Suzy. Plus we gotta show them that humans are nice, and you know these guys better than anyone!" MK couldn't help but grin at the girl in his head, a grin that Lucy couldn't see, but she could certainly feel. "...You said you could talk to them in the past, right?"
'Yeah, I did. We could all talk to each other, in the jars. We could uh... see souls too, but we couldn't hear much. The king would come and talk to us; it'd sound all weird and gargled... So they can definitely hear us.' Lucy then gave the jars a stare of her own, a solemn one, as if apologizing for a scare. '...And they know I'm here too. I hope they trust me.'
"Of course! Alphys said you're a soul of Justice, so you've got to be at least a little trustworthy! I'm sure they know that too!" Another smile, and this time, Lucy gave him a little mental smile back.
'...I hope so... Anyway... A partner for Suzy...' MK could feel himself take a small step back as Lucy's consciousness moved forward, the human crossing their arms and tapping their elbow as she began to rule out options. '...Violet needs to stay. She's in charge, and I'm gone, so no purple. Thana can be nice but isn't at first. I think she likes her alone time, so fusion would drive her nuts. No cyan.'
"Okay. Three left then."
'Suzy didn't seem super excitable to me... Marko is always excitable and loud... I'm not sure he would be a good fit... Take out orange.'
"Okay! Last two?"
'Yeah...' Lucy then gave the last two jars a long look, gears churning in her head as she tried to make a decision. '...I would pick Samuel, but um... His deadname is Suzy, to put it simply. And he also plays with Marko a lot. 'Boy lessons.''
"Boy lessons?"
'He said his mom never let him do 'boy things,' so Marko teaches him how to play tag and such. Either way, they stick together.'
