"The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown." - H. P. Lovecraft.
The first time Izuku had asked about his birth mother and father, he had been seven years old. He had been sitting at the dinner table, Hitoshi had been trying to solve a Rubik's cube for three days, Hizashi was cooking, and Shouta was grading some papers. Izuku had known that he was adopted; he had learned when they had explained to him why Hitoshi wasn't there before and how he had been taken in. How Izuku had also been taken in when he was a baby, but they loved him the same about as they would love him if he was their biological child.
When he had been coming home from school one day, he had seen kinds walking with their mothers and fathers, but Izuku only had dad's; he had to have had a mom as well. So that night at dinner, when Hizashi finally set down the food, he spoke.
" Why was I adopted?" He asks." Oh." Hizashi had said, and he looked at Shouta," well... your mama had to...go to heaven," he says, not knowing how to explain death to a seven-year-old. " and she wanted us to take care of you, but she loved you very much" he says.
" then what about my daddy? Is he in heaven too?" He asks, and Hizashi looks back at Shouta once again for help. Shouta sighed, and he stepped in on the conversation.
" Well Izuku, you see sometimes we don't know everything, we don't know where your biological dad is if you want when you get older, you can do some digging, and we can find out, but right now we don't know where he is," the black-haired man said, and Izuku paused before he nodded.
He Didn't understand the full implications of what that meant back then. He had always thought his dad with some superhero and has gone to America. Or he was an undercover cop. But the truth was that his father had just abandoned him and his mother.
Now the green-haired boy was older, and he was Confronting his issues head-on. He looked down at the address he had scribbled down on a piece of paper and then up at a tall building. It was some office building that Focused on news, and His father was the CEO. He took a deep breath to mentally prepare himself, and he walked inside.
The boy made his way to the front desk, and he smiled, waiting for the woman at the front desk to look up from her computer. " Um, hello, Miss? I'm here for an appointment with Mr. Midoriya," he says, and the woman looks up finally.
" Go up to the top floor and tell the front desk that you're here to see him," She says, and he nods his head. He thanked her as he walked to the elevator. The boys did there awkwardly in a crowded elevator as he listened to Bad elevator music. The way up seemed to take hours even though it was just a minute. People how to make many stops on the way up though he was the only one left at the top. As he stepped, he spotted the front desk, and he walked over.
" Hello," he said again, " I'm here to see Mr. Midoriya; I believe I talked on the phone with you the other day?" He asks, and the woman smiles at him. She seemed nice.
" Yes, hello, Do you have a very distinct voice," she says " yes, he's in a meeting at the moment, and you only have a slot for a fifteen-minute meeting; he's a very busy man, you know," she says. " please have a seat."
Izuku walked over to the waiting room, and he sat down in a plush chair. He felt his phone buzz, so he picked it up, and he pressed it to his ear, trying to talk in a quiet tone as not to disturb anyone. " hello?"
" Izuku, where are you? Hitoshi asked. You see, Izuku had not told anyone where he was going. This was a bad idea in the long run, but he wasn't really thinking.
"I'm just out at the store for some parts," he lied. "I don't know when I'll be back; if somebody asked for me to tell them ill get back to them when I get back," he says.
"don't do something stupid," His brother said. His brother always worries too much about him. Maybe it was because he didn't trust people easily, and he really did care for the people that were closest to him.
"I'm not a little kid anymore. I know what I'm doing, I won't cross the street when there are only 10 seconds left, and I won't get my braces stuck in a hole," he says, hearing his name be called "I have to go," he says " love you" he added before hanging up, and he stood up following the woman to the office.
When he walked in, there was a man sitting at a desk. Izuku took another deep breath, and he walked in. "I'm very busy kid, make this quick; you probably want to job here, right?"
" No" Izuku says a bit taken aback
" then why are you wasting my time?"
"Well... your Midoriya Hisashi, right?" He paused " well, my name is Izuku...Izuku Midoriya and...15 years ago you and my mother had me, my mother died when I was born, and I was adopted, I finally found you... I just wanted to meet my father." he says looking down at his shoes.
" Oh," the man says, finally looking up. He didn't seem very interested, though. " what have you been doing all these years then, you in high school? Have a girlfriend?"
" Actually, I'm going to UA," he says
" but you quirkless," the man says, finally seeming to have some interest.
" How did you know that? But um... I'm in the support course; my fathers are teachers there," he says. The man pulled out a recorder and smiled. " why did you pull that out."
" listen, Iziko "
" Izuku," he corrected
" right, I bet there are a lot of interesting stories you could tell me; how about we disgust them," he says. That's when he realized the man only wanted a story.
"Why didn't you try to contact me all these years?" He asks
" tell me about the hero's son."
" All you want is a story...Did you even care about my mom? Why weren't you there for her? She died without anybody there to help her; you left me. You made me an orphan; I had a father?" He says as he looks at him, and that's when he spotted a framed picture on the man's desk. There were two kids and a woman smiling. " is that your family" he asks, his voice shaking slightly.
" Yes. Let me tell you, something kid, life's not fair, and you should learn that before you get your heart broken again. Your mother was some whore they got pregnant because of me," he says, and Izuku pressed his lips together, "and look where that got me, I have a cripple of a son, no do you want to finally be useful and give me some information?"
" This was a mistake," he says as he looks at him "goodbye," he says, walking off. Even though his answer was A pacifist when he was angry, he was very angry; how dare this man who hadn't been in his life who barely probably even knew his mother who didn't even give a shit about him want to use him and, how could he call his mother that...
The boy trudged back to school, and he sighed, walking past Asashi and Meka, who were playing Mario cart while Akimi Sat on a bean bag blankly watching the game. Jushi Glanced at Izuku as he walked by. Normally he would have said something, but the green-haired boy didn't seem to be in the talking mood.
He sighed as he flopped on his bed face down. Was this everything?---
A tall man crossed his arms as he looked at the short doctor " so she said yes?" He asked, and the doctor nodded, handing the man a check.
" Yes, Mr. Midoriya, thank you for selling us your son's quirk; happy doing business with you, now... you wanted a story, correct?"
