Chapter Two

Not long after she had arrived back in her apartment, Stacy heard a knock on her front door. She opened it to find her neighbor James on the other side.

"It's James, right?" She asked the man at her door. He nodded in response. "Would you like to come in?"

"Oh and this is my buddy Steve," James said gesturing to the shorter man.

"It's nice to meet you Steve," Stacy greeted ushering them inside.

"Wow! It sure doesn't look like someone just moved here, maybe a week ago, but yesterday?"

"Well I had some help and I don't have much stuff, so it wasn't too bad. Oh! Please have a seat!" Stacy said nervously, she had never had guests she wasn't assigned to kill before, it was nice. "Do you guys want anything to eat or drink?"

"No, we're fine. Thanks for the offer though." Steve answered.

Sticking to her cover the three spent the rest of the evening talking about just about everything they were comfortable with, eventually moving to James' and Steve's apartment for dinner.

Stacy returned to her apartment that evening and began getting ready for bed, glad that she had made some friends.

That was all she could think about, her new friends, how sweet they were to her. And James, he was the most charming person she had met and she was sure she would never meet another person as charming as him.

She noticed how James would flirt with her, while Steve would just sit there awkwardly.

Steve was a very sweet man, awkward, but sweet. He was shorter then Stacy by two or three inches. Much smaller than his friend Bucky.

That was what he asked Stacy to call him, Bucky. He had said that James was too formal and that his friends called him Bucky.

Eventually, Stacy was ready for bed and decided to read a book she had found in her things, The Red Widow Murders by Carter Dickson.

Stacy had read eight chapters before she decided to go to bed.
