June 17, 1943.

As she stepped off of the private jet in London, she saw a car with a man standing out front. Once she had approached the car the man took her bags from her put them in the trunk and then opened the door for her. Getting in the car she notices a woman with shoulder-length brown hair, she was wearing a dark green uniform and bright red lipstick.

"Hello, my name is Stacy Barnes."

"Yes, I know. My name is Margaret Carter, But everybody calls me Peggy."

"Nice to meet you, Peggy."

"Well while we're here I might as well go over what is going to happen once we get to headquarters. Once we arrive, we will get you a uniform, and afterward, we are going to the shooting range. How are you with a gun by the way?"

"Um, pretty good, one of my old foster dads was a cop so he taught me how to shoot a gun, and took me hunting a couple of times."

"Hunting? In New York?"

"No, I've lived a little bit of everywhere, from the west coast to the east coast."

"I remember reading that in your file."

They weren't in the car for more than fifteen minutes before they arrived at an antique store. The two women walked inside and Peggy said the password and the old woman let them go in behind the wall.

"This is the Strategic Scientific Reserve," she said as they walked inside.

As Stacy walked in directly behind  Peggy she was led to a room and was given a uniform to try on. After getting the uniform on, she walked out of the room stating that the uniform fit, and Peggy led her to the shooting range and handed her some noise-canceling earmuffs.

"Put them on you're going to need them. And here is your government-issued pistol."

August 1st, 1943.

Today they were going to a military base, Camp Leigh. What Stacy had expected is that the men would be pigs, and of course, they were. But what she wasn't expecting was that Steve Rogers would be there.

They were walking up and down the line of soldiers and that's when Stacy noticed the man who was much shorter and skinnier than everyone else. It was Steve, the man who she has been calling her best friend for eight years. Why did they let him in the Army?

She was riding in the Jeep with Peggy and a man was yelling at the soldiers who were running.

Colonel Phillips had told them that whoever got the flag down from the flagpole could ride in the jeep with the two women. Immediately, all of the men began jumping and trying to climb up the flag pole to get the flag and Steve stood there and watched his fellow soldiers. After the soldiers were told to fall in line, Steve stayed back and took a piece out of the stand of the flag pole and the pole fell to the ground. Steve grabbed the flag and hopped in the jeep and started in on the questions.

"What are you doing here Stacy, I thought you were going to visit one of your old foster families?"

"It's Agent Barnes now. And I lied, I had to."

"Does Bucky know?"

"No," she lied.

"You two know each other?" Peggy asked.

"Yes, for eight years now, Steve here is my best friend."

"Yeah, plus she's married to my childhood best friend, Bucky."

 "You're married?"

"Yeah, you surprised?"

"No, you just never wear your ring."

"It's not part of the uniform."

-------

It's been two months since Stacy and Steve last saw each other and now he was being brought to the S.S.R. Headquarters.

"Why did you choose Steve of all people for this?" Stacy asked Doctor Erskine.

"Because he is a good man."

"That's the point he's too good a man to get killed, the world is still gonna need him even after the war."

"He's too good a man to not serve this country."

"You sound just like him."

After Steve arrive they began the experiment. He went and lay on the bed and they began injecting him with the serum before the bed began to change into a chamber.  After a minute the chamber began to glow brightly, and he began yelling at the same time as Peggy was telling Stark to shut it down before Steve told them he could handle it and to keep going. Exiting the chamber, he was almost a foot taller and extremely buff. Soon after, a bomb went off and a man took the last vile of the serum and shot Dr. Erskine, and ran away. Peggy and Steve ran after him Stacy was not far behind. Once they got outside Peggy got in front of the car that the man stole and tried to shoot him through the window, but Steve got her out of the way and took off following the car, Stacy tailing after him.

She didn't know if she should use her powers or not. She decided that the space was too public to use them so she decided against it. Still chasing after Steve she saw him jumping and running on top of cars. The man driving the car wrecked, got out of the car, and began shooting at Steve and Stacy before running and grabbing a kid from his mother. Dropping the kid the man ran to a submarine that was waiting it descended into the water and Steve jumped in after it. Stacy stayed on the surface.

Soon after, the man was thrown onto the surface by Steve who jumped up after him. Steve then kicked him which made the serum fly across the ground shattering the vile.

"Who the hell are you?" Steve asked angrily.

"The first of many. Cut off one head and-" he paused and chomped down on a cyanide tablet, "two more shall take its place."

The man glanced at Stacy quickly, too quickly for anyone else to notice, said "Hail Hydra" and died on the spot.
