"Happy birthday, Doll!" Bucky told her when he saw that she was finally awake.

"Thank you, Buck." Stacy said tiredly cuddling into his side. "How long have you been up?"

"Not long. Maybe an hour or so."

Bucky had stayed over the night before, after finding that Stacy had been having a reoccurring nightmare.

She still had the same bad feeling in the pit of stomach that she has had. But luckily no nightmare.

She had hoped that they would go away eventually. Sooner than later preferably. The only night she has gotten a full night's sleep was the one night that Bucky had stayed over.

"Come on, it's time to get up." Bucky told her as he got out of the bed.

"Do I have to?" Stacy whined.

"Yes, Doll! I have a lot planned for today. This is the first time we're celebrating your birthday together."

" Can't we spend it in bed?"

"No," he said as he grabbed her hands and gently pulled her up from her bed.

An hour later Stacy was out the door to meet up with Steve and Bucky downstairs.

"You do realize that we don't have to do anything, right?" She questioned still not used to the way birthdays are celebrated.

"Why wouldn't we? Your birthday is just as special as anyone else's," Steve told her.

The three had spent the entire day together. Running around the streets of Brooklyn, enjoying each other's company. She loved it, a day just for her.

Birthdays. They're unusual to her. She has never been celebrated, just recognized once in her life, when the experiments had been successful, when they turned her into something else. She was human but different. A monster is what she thought of herself as, and what everyone back in Leviathan called her, it was true.

She never wants to leave Brooklyn, never leave her boyfriend and her best friend. They made her feel like a person, like she could be more than the killer that those people had turned her into. She wants more in life, now that she knows what it has to offer. She wants to be able to celebrate her birthday every year, with her friends.

"I have a surprise for you," Bucky whispered to her.

"Well what is it?" Stacy asked him.

"Can't tell you. You'll just have to wait and see."

Stacy crossed her arms and fake pouted as she was lead down a path. Bucky looked at her and smiled as he pulled her closer under his arm. It wasn't long before Bucky had removed his arm from around her shoulders and moved behind her, placing his hand over her eyes, before continuing to lead her down the path.

Once the couple had reached their destination, Bucky uncovered Stacy's eyes to reveal a picnic. There were pillows and candles and all of her favorite snacks.

"When did you find the time to do all of this?" She asked.

"I came out here while you and Steve were at your place. I had him distract you for while. "

"So that's why he asked me to teach him to sew. The distraction worked though."

"Well I'm glad it did. Come here," he said pulling her into his side.

"You didn't have to do any of this you know."

"Yeah, I know, but I wanted to."

"Why?" She questioned.

"Because..I love you," he admitted and looked down at her.

Stacy blushed when she heard those three words. He loves her. "Really?" She questioned.

"Of course, I do."

She looked up at him and smiled.

"What?" He asked her smiling.

"I love you too, Bucky," she said and rested her head on his chest.
