As we walked through the village, we passed the cute little houses perched on color clouds. From their chimneys came the delicious aroma of desserts baking.
"What a wonderful place!" Violet said, looking around.
"Fairies of all different colors live in our village," Lilac explained. "Each one of us has a paintbrush and a palette that we use to PAINT the clouds."
The three fairies led us to a PALE BLUE house that I guessed was Bluebell's.
"You are lucky to live in such a pretty village," Colette remarked.
Bluebell nodded. "Once, this was  a very happy place, full of laughter and joy," she said. "But now..."

"Now the clouds are disappearing, you mean?" Colette asked.
Bluebell looked surprised. "How do you know that?"
"That's the reason we came here. To solve this mystery," I replied.

The three fairies looked at one another, confused, but then Bluebell's eyes got wide.
"GOODNESS! MY CUPCAKES!" she cried, and then she rushed into her house.
A moment later she flew back out. "I thought I had left them in the oven for too long! But they're perfect. Please, come in!" In the center of Bluebell's tiny house was a round table laden with cupcakes.
"The SMILE CAKES that Bluebell makes are famous throughout the village," Rosebud told us.
We took our seats around the table and each took a cupcake. "These are delicious!" Pam exclaimed, biting into a chocolate cupcake decorated with colorful sprinkles.
"I'm happy you like them," Bluebell said with a satisfied smile. "Now that there aren't any new clouds to paint, we have to find other ways to keep busy."
"We're here to find out what is happening to clouds," Will said. "we want to solve the problem and save the land."

"But nobody knows how to make the Weaver Fairies dream again," Lilac pointed out.
"Well, maybe the reason that the Weaver Fairies aren't making silver thread isn't what you think," Colette suggested.
Lilac got ANNOYED. "Oh, really? Do you know better then Queen Nephele?"
"Well, not even she knows the real reason," Will said. "There is only one fairy who can truly find out."
"And who might that be?" Rosebud asked.
"Ariette, the Weaver Fairy." Will said

The fairies' eyes widened.
"Ariette? She is the cause of all this trouble!" Lilac protested.
"But Ariette is the only one who can see the dreams of the Weaver Fairies," Paulina broke in. "Maybe the fairies are still dreaming, but what they are dreaming is keeping them from weaving. We need to understand what is going on."
"Queen Nephele and the Grand Council of Fairies have established the GUILT of Ariette according to the law. There is nothing more to say," Bluebell said firmly.
"Please, Color Pixies, give us a chance to find out the truth," Violet pleaded. "If Ariette were free, she could---"
"Free?" Rosebud interrupted angrily. "It's out of the question. It would mean giving her back her CRYSTAL PENDANT."
"And we know you're guarding it here!" Pam blurted out.
Nicky nudged her, but it was too late. Our plan to sneak off with the crystal was exposed.
"So you're here to steal Ariette's crystal?!"

Bluebell asked ANGRILY.
Rosebud took out a silver whistle and blew into it three times. A moment later, we heard the strong beating of wings. We stepped outside and saw three majestic winged unicorns!
"They will take you to the Cloud Castle. QUEEN NEPHELE and the Grand Council of Fairies are waiting for you," said Lilac STERNLY.
Will turned to us. "We may as well go to the palace. We may get more information there."
We nodded in agreement, and then climbed onto the backs of the unicorns. They soared up high, whisking us away from Fairywing Village.
