Illuminated by the evening light, Fairywing Village was even more enchanting than Will, Colette, Paulina, and Nicky had remebered. When they got near the first cloud houses, Ariette stopped.
"We must be careful," she warned. "To protect their village during the night, the Color Pixies ask the RAINBOW MOTHS to help."

   "Who are they?" asked Will.
"They are creatures that are able to hear the smallest noise. When they sense danger, they release a COLORFUL SUBSTANCE in the sky to alert the fairies," Ariette explained.
"But if the fairies are sleeping, how do they see the colors in the sky?" Paulina asked.
"The Color Pixies are very sensitive to the smell of color," Ariette explained. "Each color has it's own smell, and it makes their noses itch and wakes them up."

"Then we cannot ALERT the Rainbow Moths. But you said that they have very good hearing. how will we sneak past them?" Collette asked.
"We won't," Ariette admitted. "The RAINBOW MOTHS will see us at the village borders. As soon as we enter the village borders. As soon as we enter the Village, we'll just have to hurry and get the crystal." Paulina nodded. "Where is it exactly?"

"It's kept in the COLOR THEATER, which holds every shade of color that exits." Ariette answered. "But to get there we must pass through the GUESS-THE-COLOR MAZE."
   "MAZES are fun," Paulina remarked.
"This one is special," Ariette said. "To reach the theater, you must figure out which COLOR hallway to travel down. Each could lead to the theater--- or to nowhere."
   nicky frowned. "That sounds puzzling."
"It's a little tricky," Ariette agreed. "When you step inside the theater, the walls are white. You must call out a COLOR of your choice, which will then appear."
"And what id it's the wrong choice?" Colette asked.

"Then we must TURN BACK and start at the beginning," the fairy answered.
"And how do we know which color to choose?" Paulina asked.
"You must trust your intuition," Ariette said. "The correct color is different each time."

With the plan in place, Ariette and the others FLEW into the village. As soon as they crossed the border, the RAINBOW MOTHS flew toward them, leaving COLOR STREAKS in the sky as they went.
"What an amazing sight!" Paulina exclaimed.
"We could enjoy it more if we weren't in DANGER," Will said.
They landed in front of the GUESS-THE-COLOR MAZE. A rainbow arched over the entrance.
"It's too bad Violet isn't here," Colette said, thinking of ARTISTIC friend. "She would love this!"
"We'll tell her about it," Will promised.
As they climbed off their UNICORNS, they saw that the sky above them was marbled with COLOR. They heard a great BEATING of wings as they entered the maze.
"The Color Pixies are awake!" cried Colette.
