"Here we are." Ji-ah proclaimed with her innocent smile right after we stopped at the huge door.
I slowly roamed my eyes in the area. It is the only door on the entire floor.

Penthouse

Wow!

Does she really live here?

"O–okay..." I smiled awkwardly. I took a breath of air. I don't know what to do next, whether to knock on the door or ring the bell.

I felt Ji-ah poke me on the side. I turned my head down to see her. She's smiling widely and pointed something at the right side of the door, indicating me to press the bell.

I nodded at her. I swallowed my saliva before I raised my hand to press the button. But when I was about to do it, I heard the sound of someone rattling the doorknob. So I stopped.

My eyes widen when a familiar person opened the door.

"Omo!"

Mrs. Jeon exclaimed while holding her chest. She was maybe startled to see someone standing on the doorstep.

I was a bit surprised by her reaction as well.

It is true. Seeing Mrs. Jeon here clarifies that indeed they live in a penthouse. Ji-ah wasn't making fun of me.

"Annyeonghaseyo halmeoni!" Ji-ah greeted waving her hands to her grandma with a broad smile plastered on her face, that's when Mrs. Jeon noticed her granddaughter.

"Ottoke!" She kneeled and embraced Ji-ah.
"I am sorry Ji-ah. Halmeoni was so busy a while ago that I didn't notice the time." Mrs. Jeon spoke in a worried tone.

"It's okay, halmeoni. Teacher Shasha brought me here." Ji-ah answered while gently grabbing my hand.

Mrs. Jeon then faced me and stood up.
"Ohh, you are the teacher I talked to the other week. So you are Ji-ah's teacher Shasha. Ji-ah always mentioned you. By the way, thank you for bringing Ji-ah home. I was so worried when I found out I was late to pick her up." Mrs. Jeon continued. I can see the wrinkles on the side of her eyes.

I gave her an assurance smile, "It's okay, Mrs. Jeon. It's my job to make sure Ji-ah came home safe."

Mrs. Jeon nodded, let out a sigh of relief, and smiled. She opened the door widely and invited me to go in.
"Let's go inside. I owe you big time. Let me make you some snacks."

I shook my head politely. "It's okay Mrs. Jeon. Thanks for your offer by the way but I have to go now. I need to pass by somewhere." I declined when I remembered I need to go to the supermarket and cook food for Nayeon as I promised to her.

I can feel Mrs. Jeon was a bit disappointed. I know she wanted to make up with me by bringing Ji-ah home safely but I can't just afford to stay here any longer or else Nayeon won't talk to me the whole week.
